The set up program was convoluted and confusing. Do I install HP+ or HP Smart? Had to figure it out by trial and error. Then the 20 choices offered fir my brand new printer didn't even list my printer. Argh! Still haven't been able to print from my phone. I am a reasonably tech-savvy person so how do older people or people without their own IT staff figure things out these days. it would be great to have devices where you plug it is, plug in a cable, and then just print.
I paid the $40, then it wouldn't register that I'd paid it via the app. The HP printer turned out to be garbage, so in total it cost me $140 and 4 hours of frustration. I do not reccomend the HP Deskjet 3772 either. The setup is overly complex and requires too many things to setup. Imagine having to connect to WiFi, Bluetooth, give permission for precise location, and then some your to use your earbuds, because thats what you need to do to use this printer. HP needs to get with the times.
Garbage bloatware - no basic functionality you would expect like changing the size of the photo. Full of all the usual scammy tricks like requiring a subscription to unlock basic features and a constant barrage of ads between clicks. Not even sure this is an official HP app - the printer plug-in app works fine with the same basic features pseudo-natively without any of the other nonsense.
