Dragalia Lost Intro

In this guide, we have compiled a few important aspects of the game that can help you begin the game with ease. The primary reason behind this is that the game is now in its 2nd anniversary and with so many contents already added and a lot of events going on, sometimes its confusing to navigate around the menus. We have filtered a lot of that information to teach you the basics which can guide you in easing your journey.

The Menus:

The game gives you different options to progress, and it's essential to know how to access the various aspects of the game.

Dragalia Lost Menus

Home:

In the Home menu, you'll be able to start quests, access the shop, in-game announcements, and endeavor sub-menus. Tap on the Event banner to go to the latest limited-time events.

You can open the Endeavors menu to collect rewards for completed endeavors and much more.

Quests:

You can find all active events in the quest menu, including the Main Campaign and where you go to start quests. The Treasure Trade option gives you quick access to the Shop's Treasure Trade section, where you can trade quest rewards for valuable items.

Upgrade:

In the upgrade menu, you can upgrade your units. Here you can see adventurers, dragons, weapons, and wyrmprints.

Adventurers section – Here, you can level up your Heroes, allocate augments to their HP and Strength, or promote them to a higher rarity if applicable.

Mana Circles – These are another kind of upgrade that will boost their performance by additional base stats and unlocking new abilities, along with powering up these abilities. Unlocking specific mana circle nodes also unlocks new chapters in their adventurers’ stories.

Weapons/Crafting – This will open up the page where you can craft and improve your weapons.

Wyrmprints – This allows you to improve your wyrmprints.

Dragons – This will open the page where you can level up and unbind dragons.

Teams:

Here you can assemble your party and change your party to select up to 4 adventurers in your team. You can also equip a weapon, a dragon, and set up their shared skills. You can optimize your team also based on the parameters you select.

Summon:

Here you can spend either Icon Wyrmite, Diamantium, Consumable Summon Vouchers, Consumable Tenfold Summon Vouchers, or free summons to summon characters.

Combat:

Combat comprises two main components to the system: the mechanics and the controls.

Combat Mechanics:

HP – The HP bar displays differently depending on its percentage compared to the adventurer's max HP.

  • At full, the HP bar is in light green with a glow effect.
  • At above 30%, the HP bar in the lower corner is in deep green.
  • Below 30% HP, the HP bar is in red.

Overdrive and Break – Most bosses also have a Mode Gauge; this is the amount of damage you need to cause to a boss to enter the overdrive state, followed by another gauge dealing damage will send the boss to break state. In an Overdrive state, bosses receive boosts to Strength and possibly defense, and they may unleash new, more powerful attacks. In Break state, bosses are rendered immobile, their defenses are lowered massively, which makes them easy to damage.

Basic Attacks – Basic attacks occur by taps on the screen adventuring. Multiple taps will unleash combos of basic attacks with different animations and damage modifiers.

Force Strikes – Force Strikes are secondary attacks while holding a finger on the screen, and after a couple of seconds, it fully lights up; releasing the held finger will unleash an attack towards the direction or location of the icon.

Skills – Every adventurer and dragon have skills that they can use while on quests. An adventurer can equip up to 4 skills during quests.

Dodging – You can perform a dodge roll by swiping at the screen quickly. During a dodge roll, then you are immune to all damage during the dodge animation.

Shapeshifting – You gain the ability to shapeshift into a dragon when equipped as such while on a quest. The Dragon gauge needs to be filled to command the shapeshifting. You temporarily fight as the dragon, giving you all new basic attacks, a new skill, procs any dragon-related abilities, and a dragon timer that shows how much longer you remain in shapeshifted form.

Elemental Advantage:

Dragalia Lost Elements

Like most games, you get damage multipliers when one element is fighting another element. This multiplier is +50% when attacking with an advantage element and -50% when attacking with a disadvantaged element.

Afflictions – You can apply several different afflictions. Some are inflicted by enemies of a specific element, while others can be applied by all of them. While afflicted in this state also means that you cannot transform into your dragon or activate your dragondrive. Some abilities can cleanse afflictions, and some characters have a chance of not being affected by the affliction. Damage-over-Time (DoT) afflictions deal periodic damage. Crowd-control (CC) afflictions obstruct movement.

Progression:

While downloading, you can perform 50 summons on the Tutorial Summon Showcase, a hefty reroll system. You can try the 50 summons as many times as you want until you're happy with your results.

Starting Adventurers:

During the tutorial, you will be granted the following 3 Icon Rarity adventurers. They are not particularly strong but will fill out any holes in your roster when starting.

Flame – Aoi, Joe, Aurien.

Water – Zardin, Jurota, Waike, Ricardt.

Wind – Melody, Francesca, Nicolas, Sophie.

Light – Irfan, Linus, Malka, Hope, Sharpshooter Joe.

Shadow – Vida, Erik, Zace, Althemia

Early Game:

Advancing the Main Campaign – After completing the tutorial and after rerolling, it's time to start progressing. As an early goal, clear chapter 7 to unlock more content, most crucial upgrade features, and Void Battles. You can revisit Later chapters once you're stronger.

Your First Team – Have multiple elements in your first-party as there is an elemental advantage and disadvantage system in the game. Once you've settled on the members, you can equip them with any of the weapons, wyrmprints, and dragons you have.

The Royal Regimen - The Royal Regimen is a set of tutorial-like endeavors that helps you progress to the endgame. It gives tons of upgrade materials to level up your team along with rare rewards such as Consumable 5★ Summon Voucher (Adventurer) and Consumable 5★ Summon Voucher (Dragon) to help grow your roster. Be sure to peruse them whenever you can.

Halidom Progression - The buildings in your halidom can increase your adventurers' stats and, in the Smithy, allow you to craft better weapons.

Midgame:

Might, Progression, and Misunderstanding - Might is a score that's calculated by adding up the stats and ability values of your heroes along with their equipped gear. To increase your might, you can do several tasks.

  • Mana Circle. These are the best way to increase the might of your team because each node can increase your Hero's might by a value ranging from 10 to ~100.
  • Crafting and Enhancing Weapons. Making new and better weapons for your Heroes to wield is another significant contributor to might.
  • Leveling Adventurers. You can level your Heroes by using them in quests or spending Gold Crystals on them.
  • Leveling Wyrmprints and Dragons. They ultimately provide less might per level than leveling adventurers.

Daily Bonus – Many events bonus chests for your first run per day. Finish them on the highest difficulty possible, even if you are farming on a specific quest.

Daily Grand Bounty – These are limited-time events with a special Daily Bonus known as the Grand Bounty, which rewards you for clearing the event's Nightmare mode every day. The rewards from this gift you a randomized batch of rare upgrade materials. Beat it once a day if you can challenge the fight.

Daily Draconic Essences – These are unique items that can be used to unbind 5* dragons without the need to use a dupe or a Sunlight Stone. Great way to power up your dragons cheaply.

Weekly Bonus – In the Endgame, some quests have chests similar to the daily ones, but they operate on a weekly schedule instead.

Void Battles – Void Battles are boss fights that give you materials to craft void weapons, unlock unique abilities along with Void Leafs and Void Seeds, and trade for various rewards in the Treasure Trade, which will reset every month.

Astral Raids – Fights with Raid bosses from older Raid Events that you can repeat. These ONLY happen during weekends when a regular Raid Event isn't running.

Weapon Progression:

Weapons in this game progress linearly, such as;

  • 3★ Rarity Core weapons
  • 4★ Rarity Core weapons
  • 5★ Rarity Core non-elemental weapons

After upgrading a 5★ Rarity Core non-elemental weapon fully, your weapon options will branch out. There are Core elemental, Void, and Chimeratech. Chimeratech weapons are the strongest you can get, and they are relatively cheap to craft - you can craft one after a couple of battles. You can find the materials needed to craft Chimeratech weapons in the various elemental versions of the Void Chimera Strike fight.

Endgame:

The current endgame consists of boss fights -the Advanced Dragon Trials, The Agito Uprising, and Rise of the Sinister Dominion, among many more.

High Dragon Trials – These Trials operate on a cycle, meaning, beating a boss of one element, you can craft a weapon of another element. For example, beating High Midgardsormr lets you craft a Wind weapon that you can use against High Mercury or other content.

The Agito Uprising – In this mode, you get the weapon of the same element you are fighting.

Dragalia Lost The Agito Uprising

Rise of the Sinister Dominion – Introduces the Curse of Nihility debuff, which can remove nearly all buffs you have on your team. In higher difficulties, block them from being cast for a period, which requires new team compositions and strategies due to the shift in the viability of units.
