EA wants your money, shocking... After playing for a few weeks, I can confidently say that this is less of a racing game and more of a car building game with racing mini games thrown in. This would be fine, except for the fact that the system to acquire and upgrade cars is incredibly frustrating and unnecessarily convoluted. Every part of this system seems engineered to encourage you to get your credit card out. I would much rather pay for a complete game rather than deal with this nonsense.
Cars are upgradeable. Graphics are good. There is a storlyline of sorts. It starts off fairly easy, getting progressively more challenging, but is then spoiled by constant requests for pay-to-play features and a sudden wall when you reach the 3rd or 4th chapter, when you need to be level 80 to continue. Gave this a 3* but now reducing to 1* because ALL races now require more car ($$$) than I have. The game is just a honeytrap - starts off sweet but then needs cash to keep going.
Last time I played this 5 year's ago I got bored from every single race being only 10-20 seconds long and it's not a drag race. Tried it again just now and nothing has changed. This isn't my idea of a Need For Speed game at all. It's nothing compared to even the old PS2 game. If I had to change anything it would be longer races, better upgrade layout, drag races like NFS Underground, Open World Area, Drifts, make the campaign 10x longer. I'd go on but I'm running out of room. Maybe it'll be.....
