How to Find out the Game Data Storage File

The very first step of recovering your important game data of LDPlayer is to find out the game data storage file which contains your game data, game account, operation settings. The file is data.vmdk which is a virtual disk file. Due to LDPlayer cannot open the virtual disk file directly, you need other specialized tools to open it and then find the game data. Follow the steps and proceed.

 

Step 1. To find the data storage file that can be restored for your LDPlayer:

a. Right-click the icon of the LDPlayer and choose "Open file location". Then enter into its vms folder.

b. You can see that the names of the files in vms folder correspond to the name in the LDMultiPlayer.

c. Enter into the folder of the damaged emulator. Here, you can find “data.vmdk” which contains your game data. That’s what you need!

Step 2. Open data.vmdk by DiskGenius

a. Download and install DiskGenuis which is a specialized tool to open virtual disk. Then launch it.

b. Then you can see the interface below. Click “Disk” in the top column and choose “Open Virtual Disk File”.

c. After that, you can open the game data storage file. Right-click the file you want to recover and copy to a specific folder.

Step 1. Open LDMultiPlayer and create a new LDPlayer.

Step 2. Then you need to copy the configuration file.

The configuration files of emulators are all in the same directory, and they correspond to the names in the LDMultiPlayer. Right-click the emulator icon and open the file location. Then click folder “vms” > “config”. The configuration file you need is right here.

To copy the emulator file, you can follow these steps: Assuming "leidian1" is damaged and "leidian2" is newly created, you need to delete leidian2.config and copy leidian1.config to get leidian1-copy.config. Then rename leidian1-copy.config to leidian2.config. This step is to ensure you can recover the game data of the guest accounts.

 

Step 3. Copy game data.

a. First, you need to figure out the package name of the game. If you don’t know the package name, you can directly search it in Google Play. The package name is in the link. You can see the package name in the picture is "com.stove.epic7.google".

b. Assuming the package name is com.android.xxxxxx, you can extract the contents of the data/com.android.xxxxxx folder in data.vmdk.

 

c. Then launch the newly-created emulator and place the contents you extracted in data/data/com.android.xxxxxx. Due to the category data/data/ is a hidden directory by default, you need to make some settings.

Setting method: Main interface of LDPlayer > System Apps > File Manager > category icon at top left > gear icon at bottom left > General settings > Access mode > Root Access mode.

LDPlayer has developed a feature called the Shared folder, in which you can manage and transfer the files stored inside LDPlayer and your PC. Click the "More features" button on the right side of LDPlayer to view the "Shared Folder".
