Let’s play Genshin Impact on LDPlayer and find out together

How to Play - Dendro

The Dendro element is the 7th element added to the game of Genshin Impact that have only been recently implemented with the 3.0 Update Patch, bringing with it new and exciting elemental reactions and interactions with other elements for players to test out.

The Dendro Element is an element that specializes in Enabling different reactions based on the element it interacted with, making it one of the game’s 3 best offensive supporting elements, allowing players to strengthen other elements through the use of the Dendro Element.

In addition, the Dendro element mainly focuses on the Elemental Mastery Stat, therefore, players should absolutely focus on giving Dendro characters Elemental Mastery to further enhance their abilities.

Elemental Reactions

The Dendro Element has 3 main Elemental Reactions, namely: Bloom/Hyper Bloom (Dendro + Hydro), Spread (Dendro + Electro) and Burning (Dendro + Pyro).

Bloom/Hyperbloom is the element’s most reactive reaction and is one that enables a lot of useful reactions when interacting with other elements. Once Bloom is triggered, it will spawn a seed on the ground, which will explode 3s it landed (1s if its Hyperbloom), dealing Dendro damage to surrounding enemies. However, if these seeds come into contact with Electro or Pyro, Spread and Burgeon will trigger, enhancing the surrounding Electro or Pyro damage.

Spread is the reaction that enables Electro to deal massive amounts of damage once triggered. When Spread is applied to the enemy, they will be applied a debuff that enhances the damage of Electro and Dendro that they have to take. This reaction is one of the most straightforward ways to enhance the damage output, however, it is hard to trigger reliably and requires practice to utilize.

Finally, Burning is a reaction that applies a DoT status to all enemies, dealing periodic damage to all enemies inflicted and applying the Pyro status to them over a long period of time. This reaction is great for players who need the enemies to be inflicted with the Pyro status to initiate other reactions, making it highly recommended in Melt or Vapo teams.

How Should You Play Dendro

To play the Dendro Element, players should first understand the 3 different team comps that Dendro element can fit in and be the main element of support for the team:

  • Bloom team : 2 Dendro - 1 Hydro - 1 Healer (any element)

This team specializes in making the most amount of seeds on the field as possible to deal massive amounts of AOE Dendro damage to all enemies surrounding the cores. However, players will need to bring 1 healer as the cores will also damage the characters on the field.

  • Spread team: 2 Dendro - 1 Electro - 1 Electro/Hydro

This team specializes in enhancing the Electro and Dendro damage output of the main DPS (preferably the Electro main carry) in addition to supplementing the team with occasional cores for easier trigger of the Spread reaction and the added bonus of the Electrocharged Reaction.

  • Burning team: 2 Dendro - 1 Pyro - 1 Hydro

This team specializes in applying the Pyro mark on enemies, allowing them to be dealt Pyro damage over in addition to being vulnerable for players to use the Vaporize reaction to deal massive amounts of damage. This team will also need a healer if possible, therefore, players can replace one of the 2 Dendro characters for a healer.

The Dendro support character will absolutely need to be equipped with the Dendro Artifact set - Memories of the Deep Forrest and have their stats specializes in both Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge in order to support the entire team, players can disregard the critical stats for Dendro support as most reactions of the Dendro Element can’t crit.

Top Dendro Characters to Use/Pull For

No.4 - Collei

Collei is a free Dendro Bow Users that is rewarded to all players who have cleared floor 4.2 of the abyss. She uses a bow and has skills that enable a large field of Dendro for reactions.

No.3 - Dendro Traveler

The Dendro version of the Traveler can be accessed once players have reached Sumeru and is available for all players once they have interacted with the Sumeru’s statue of the seven.

No.2 - Tighnari

Tighnari is the outlier out of the 4 Dendro element characters released as he is a main Dendro DPS dealer and not an actual support.

Players who use Tighnari will want to utilize the characters in the team to help enhance Tighnari’s Dendro damage instead of the opposite. Tighnari’s main point lies in his ability to spam Dendro Charge attack arrows that track enemies and deal multiple instances of damage to them. In addition, Tighnari’s elemental skill will help the team set up a large Dendro zone, helping to initiate the Dendro Elements easier.

No.1 - Nahida

Of course the top spot must be reserved for the Dendro Archon herself - Lesser Lord Kusanali Nahida. Nahida is a catalyst wielding the ability to not only link different enemies, dealing Dendro damage to all of them but also enables the entire team the benefit of buffing their Elemental Mastery and enabling them to use the Dendro reactions easier.
