Very US-centric. It's a very good app in theory, the user interface is great and it's so easy to use! I'd recommend this app but only if you live in the US. As a European living in Europe this was quite useless. It was just showing me American insects and which states they live in which means nothing to me, so I've uninstalled. As for the ads, I don't mind advertisements in apps, even popups sometimes, but the particular adverts shown in the app were scams which feels a bit irresponsible.
Worst possible experience with an app. Immediately. Has you pay for the trial and refuses refund. I am in the middle of trying to email and get my money back. I literally had the app on my phone for less than 24 hours. Once I realized it was a paid only service! I will be contacting my bank for a back charge if I'm unable to achieve refund through the developer
Kept scanning what was very clearly a spider and kept coming up as a beetle. When it finally did register as a spider it was none of the ones depicted. App went as far to suggest it was a black widow or an orchid spider in the possible options which are very distinct thick dark colored spiders, but this one was very thin, brown, spindley and very clearly neither of those.
