NBA Now 22 is a stunning new Basketball mobile game from developers Com2Us after being licensed by the NBA. The game offers both new and improved features on the mobile platform, such as a single-handedly controlled basketball game, various game modes, Auto-play, and real-time PvP multiplayer modes. 

 

There's a lot to admire in this game, and in this article, we'll be giving you helpful tips and tricks that'll help you master the game's tricky controls in no time and dominate opponents in the court. 

 

Master the Basic Controls

The default control of this game is a virtual joystick to which all commands like passing, shooting, dribbling, and tackling are assigned. This is a bit tricky at first, but it's pretty cool and easy to use as you get used to it. While you can change controls and switch to type B, the single virtual joystick controls make the game playable with one hand.

 

Switching to the type B controls will pop out buttons which you can use to pass, shoot, dribble or tackle, while the virtual joystick button will remain as the movement button. One of the first things you need to master is both controls, especially the default one, type A. We advise using control type A since it's one of the major features that make this game stand out compared to other NBA Games on the mobile platform. 

 

There is a clear distinction between both control types A and B. They each have their purpose and are each more efficient than the other when used by the right players. So while the default control type A makes the game unique, we also advise you to pick the control type that's easier and more effective to your gameplay style. Dominating the Court

Like the standard rules in basketball, matches in this game consist of four quarters of a set duration that you can choose before the start of any match. Dribble: this lets you perform a swift skill on your opponent that lets you get past them.

 

Pass: If this ball is in your possession, you can swipe in the direction of the teammate you wish to pass to and pass the ball to them. 

 

Shoot: When in close range to the hoop, you can long-press the virtual joystick to target and aim for the basket to perform a shot. 

 

Defend/Tackle: When the opposing team has the ball, you can long-press the virtual joystick to trigger auto-defense and block your opponents from scoring or getting past your defense. 

 

Steal: Just as you can dribble past opponents, they can also dribble past you. So to block them from getting past you, you can swipe left or right and attempt to steal the ball from the opponent. 

 

Block: Opponents don't hesitate to target the basket and shoot. They aim with the slightest opportunity they get. So if you want to stop them from shooting and scoring, you can swipe up using the virtual joystick at the appropriate time and try to block his shot. 

 

The above controls are for the virtual joystick, which is the default control type. Always remember that you can change the control type in a match and use buttons if you want. Whether type A or B, whichever controls you decide to use will probably take you some time to get used to it, but it's a piece of cake after playing the first few matches. 

 

Auto-play isn't a Bad Idea in This Game

The game has a cool Auto-play feature that lets you simulate a match and even allows you to fast-forward the game. We know that due to the excess use of the Auto-play feature in many new games nowadays, many players have come to criticize the feature. Some even go as far as saying that Auto-play ruins the gameplay experience entirely. 

 

Well, for some games, it's true, especially strategy and turn-based games. However, considering the League Mode in NBA Now 22 and how you have to play 82 games in a season, surely you can't make time for all the 82 Home and Away matches even if the duration is set to 3 minutes for each half. 

 

This calls for serious Auto-play because, in this game, the Auto-play is fair. Playing at Rookie difficulty and using Auto-play might even see you lose a match if you're not careful. The AI used for Auto-play isn't biased in any way that takes anything from the game. And you can enable Auto-play at any point. If you play the first two halves and have scored enough points to seal your victory, then you can decide to use Auto-play for the remaining game and just watch how your players perform without you in control.

 

 

Spend time setting up your Line-up

A team is only as successful as the players you decide to use as starters. It is integral that you understand the good players from the bad and learn to place them in their appropriate positions in your squad. Failing to do this will see you lose more matches than you're winning, and if you do happen to win matches, it'll be a lucky winner. So you always need to check your player's stats and make sure to start every match with your best players. 

 

You can also check your current team Line-up from the Manage Team section and see the condition of your players as well as their overall stats. Each Line-up consists of 12 players. 5 starters and 7 substitutes. If you're just starting out, you don't really need to worry about the Line-up because the Auto-switch button can simply help you set your Line-up automatically and put the best players accordingly. 

 

 

Upgrade your Players

Upgrade or level up your players to increase their performance on the court. If you have enough Character Points or Stars, you can increase your player's stats by 3 points each time they level up. Anyhow, there's a chance that you might be unsuccessful in leveling them from time to time using character points. But if you want a 100% success rate, then you'll have to use Stars to upgrade them. 

 

NBA Now 22 becomes very challenging as you progress further, and you'll have to master the controls if you want to compete with other players in real-time PvP.
