NBA NOW 22 Guide - Understanding the Various Game Modes

NBA Now 22 is the latest installment of Basketball mobile games developers Com2Us, whom the NBA officially licensed with a green light to make this exciting game for mobile devices. The game takes inspiration from EA's NBA 2K games that have reigned on the mobile platform over the years, and it has improved on some of the features of past NBA mobile titles. 

 

This time the developers took their time to add tons of content and game modes to this new installment which, to some extent, we think the game is bogged down with too much content. But we'll leave that for you to decide as we'll be detailing all of the game's modes in this article. So without wasting any more time, here are all the playable game modes in NBA Now 22.

 

 

League Mode

---

This is the main NBA League where you can compete against AI opponents and strive to climb up the rankings by playing up to 82 matches per season in Home and Away rules. Starting out, you'll be required to play the game in Rookie difficulty, which will allow you to understand the league before moving on to tougher difficulty levels.

 

The league mode also includes a global League Ranking where you can see your position amongst other players. A tactical card option also allows you to prepare for each league match with just the right strategy. If you have a league match against a tough opponent that you're not sure you can beat, you can take some time to practice just before the match. 

 

League matches also have a decent auto-save feature where if you quit the game in the middle of a match for some reason, you can come back at any time and continue the match from where you left off, or you can choose to re-start the match entirely if it's not in your favor. You can also decide to set it to Auto-play in league matches, which will display a simulation of the match without you actually controlling the players. And if you want to control the players, you will have to choose between playing for 3 minutes or 12 minutes. 

 

 

Arcade Mode

In Arcade Mode, you can participate in the Dunk Contest, and based on the score you emerge with; you'll be rewarded with Arcade Points accordingly. Additionally, based on the amount of Arcade Points you have, you'll be assigned to a tier every week, and you'll be given Arcade Coins depending on your tier. After you have received your tier rewards, your Arcade Points and tier will reset. 

 

To participate in the Dunk Contest, you'll need Arcade Tickets. For a start, you'll have 5 of them in your inventory that you can use. And the contest is played only by using the player of the week provided by the system. This means you can play the contest using different players every week. Additional points can be earned if you own a player card with the same name as the player of the week. You can keep a close tab on your score and combos in the Arcade Mode lobby screen as well as the players with the highest score. 

 

 

Friend Mode

This is a competitive multiplayer mode that allows you to take on your friends in real-time. You can add up your friends and compete with them and be rewarded with stars and other items. You can also exchange items with friends, such as Friendship Coins. And Friendship Coins can be by exchanging coins from the Friend Mode shop. So if you like to battle it out with a pal, then you'll love the Friend Mode. 

 

 

Prediction Mode

---

In this mode, you get to predict ongoing or forthcoming games and earn cool rewards. The games will be scheduled in the Prediction Mode lobby, which gives you a good view of all the current games that are going to be played in a day. And you won't be voting alone as it's a global voting system where every player can vote and earn. You can even see the number of votes so far. 

 

There is also a participation reward that lets you predict the ranked players of each record in a daily match and get rewards as well. You are only allowed to predict up to 5 players daily. The Prediction Shop is where you can spend your Prediction Coins on several items such as Live Premium Player Packs, Premium Division Selective Pack, Diamond Player Pack, and more. 

 

 

Mission Mode

In this mode, you get to play a variety of missions and get rewards for completing them, and you can also play the missions repeatedly. The repeat feature is, however, not unlimited. You can only repeat certain missions up to 2-7 times. Some of the daily missions are basic stuff that you can easily complete, such as 'Win a league match, win a ranked battle, Level up a player, etc. 

 

Missions don't only involve playing the game. Some missions don't require you actually to play the game before completing them and earning rewards. Sometimes you'll be asked to Complete the type B control practice or something as easy as changing your current Line-up once, competing in a ranked battle, and so on. 

 

 

The Shop

---

The shop is whew you can purchase the best items in this game. The Signature package contains exclusive items which you can only purchase in packs and usually cost real money. The Charge Section contains Gold coins that you can buy using real money as well. There is also an items section that lets you buy items that can be used to develop your players and make them more effective in the court. And then there are Mileages that you can earn when you spend a certain number of stars.
