Genshin Impact 3.4 Update Patch Contents

In Genshin Impact 3.4 update patch, players will be able to partake in Genshin Impact special annual event - the Lantern Rite Festival to obtain up to 10 FREE intertwined fates (= 10 pulls) and a free 4* Liyue characters. In addition, players will also be introduced to a brand new area to explore, special story quests and other events to obtain primogems, character upgrading materials and more.

Lantern Rite Festival - The Exquisite Night Chimes

The annual Lantern rite festival makes its grand return to Liyue as one of the most highly anticipated events in Genshin Impact, this year being held as a music festival with the return of fan favorites - Hutao, Yelan and Xiao.

The Lantern Rite Event will be held from Lunar New Year aka the 22nd of January for a total of 3 weeks, with a variety of activities and events players can partake in in order to complete the preparation for the festival occasion and obtain all of the rewards available from the event. 

 

Players will be able to obtain up to 1000 Primogems from the event in addition to a Crown and a large amount of character upgrading materials. 

Finally, by collecting event currencies and complete the event’s main story, players will have the chance to obtain a FREE 4* Liyue character, including a free copy of the brand new 4* dendro polearm character - Yao Yao. So players should make sure to finish the event to the fullest in order to obtain a free 4* character of their choice.

Brand New Area - The Sumeru Desert Cyclone

Towering over the Sumeru desert and can be seen from far away is the ever present cyclone at the middle of the desert, concealing and swallowing everything within its vicinity, preventing everyone from entering its territory. However, with the help of Alhaitham, players will now be able to explore this brand new region once they have completed the main story quest for Alhaitham. 

This region is dangerous with many difficult terrains and powerful beasts, so players should pay attention while exploring this region. In addition, a dangerous new world boss is introduced in this region, serving as the ultimate goal for players to fight in order to obtain special ascension materials for brand new characters such as Alhaitham. 

In addition, special local specialties, brand new chests and world quests will be available for players when exploring this region, rewarding players with Primogems when complete. So players should take their time exploring and completing quests within this region in order to obtain all of the rewards.

Brand New Story Quest

With the release of Alhaitham in patch 3.4, a special character story quest will also be available for players to clear featuring Alahitham and his adventure to uncover the mystery of the brand new desert region.

Players will need to have cleared the main quests of Sumeru to the final Act and reach at least lv 45 in order to partake in this story quest, so players should prepare fully before starting this quest. In addition, this quest will reward players with Primogems and other materials useful for upgrading Alhaitham and other characters, so players should clear the quest as soon as possible when they can.

Other Special Events

- Special Lunar New Year Log in Event: During the update patch period, players will be able to obtain up to 10 FREE intertwined fates simply by logging in a total of 7 days.

- Almighty Arataki Beetle Brawl: A special event in which players train their own special beetles to fight against other beetles in order to obtain special character upgrading materials and Primogems.

- Second Blooming: A special fighting event where players will fight waves of enemies using special available characters from the event and will reward players with a brand new special skin for Lisa for a limited time in addition to Primogems and other rewards.

Genshin Impact Patch 3.4 Special Rate Up Banner - Should You Roll

Together with the release of the 3.4 patch, 2 brand new characters will also be released in order to celebrate the occasion - the 4* dendro polearm user Yao Yao and the 5* dendro sword wielder Alhaitham.

Yao Yao

Yao Yao is a 4* Dendro Elemental Polearm user of the Liyue region that specializes in supporting allies of the Dendro element and healing the team based on her elemental mastery stat.

Yao Yao is the first ever Dendro healer and relies heavily on her special summons in order to deal damage and support allies. Her skills and ultimate will summon special bunny like summons that throw radishes at enemies, dealing dendro damage to them and drop a dendro core on the ground, helping other allies to initiate Dendro centric elemental reaction easily and effectively. 

 

In addition, Yao Yao and her summons’ attacks will heal all allies based on Yao Yao’s own elemental mastery stat, making her an extremely useful character to have in Bloom and Hyperbloom to heal off the damage from Dendro cores.

Alhaitham

Alhaitham (also known by the community as Dendro Keqing for fun) is a 5* Dendro sword user that focuses primarily on dealing dendro damage with his crystals and the ability to deal damage to enemies in a wide area using his swords.

Alhaitham’s kit bears heavy resemblance to that of Keqing, with his skill being able to teleport him and deal Dendro elemental damage to enemies that the mark hit. Once used, Alhaitham’s skill will infuse his normal attacks with the Dendro element and grants him special crystal stacks that can be consumed in order to deal massive amounts of AOE damage to enemies nearby. 

 

Alhaitham’s ultimate deals heavy damage to enemies within his ultimate’s zone, blasting them with laser blasts and dealing multiple instances of dendro damage to all enemies within the zone. The more crystal stacks Alhaitham have at the time of activation, the more laser blasts will be fired off and the more damage will be dealt to enemies.

 

Alhaitham is a specially powerful Dendro DPS that specializes in dealing dendro damage and unlike other dendro characters who focuses primarily on supporting the team, Alhaitham have the potential to be the main DPS of the team able to carry the entire team’s weight.
