Genshin Impact 3.1 Update - King Deshret and The Three Magi

The upcoming Genshin Impact 3.1 patch - “King Deshret and The Three Magi” brings its players a brand new desert-themed exploration area, brand new major story quests, exciting new time-exclusive events and 3 brand new characters and their story quests.

 

Brand New Exploration Area

Inspired by Egyptian architects and mythologies, the brand new exploration area that is being introduced into Genshin Impact 3.1 update is a big desert theme area with many new enemies and unique landscapes for players to explore.

 

 

In this area, players will be exposed to many new puzzle mechanics that grant players rewards once you have managed to clear them in addition to many new different types of enemies players need to defeat in order to gain special rewards.

 

 

In addition, 2 brand new world bosses will be introduced to this new exploration area, allowing players to test their strengths against brand new enemies with new mechanics for character upgrading materials needed for the new characters coming in 3.1.

 

 

 

New Story Quests

Continuing the story quests of 3.0, the main story of Genshin Impact’s 3rd Act in the land of Sumeru continues with 2 new Main Archon Quests - “Act 3: Dreams, Emptiness and Deception” and “Act 4: King Deshret and The Three Magi”. Players should have completed the 2nd Act of the Archon quest to be able to start these brand new story quests.

 

 

In addition to the new Archon Quests, with the release of new 5* Characters Cyno and Nilou, their story quests will also be available for all players to play through and enjoy.

 

 

 

New Time-Exclusive Events:

For the entire duration of the new Genshin 3.1 patch, all players will be able to participate in many special patch exclusive events, notable of which is the Mondstadt Festival - Weinlesefest

 

 

This special event will reward all players who participated in it a special new FREE 4* Weapons, Primogems, Character Upgrading materials and More. So players should be sure to participate in the event and claim these rewards for themselves.

 

 

Other minor events of this patch include the Wind Chaser Event, the Star Seeker Sojourn Event and the Hyakunin Ikku Event, all of which are new versions of pre-existing events in Genshin making their return for this version 3.1 patch.

 

New Characters and Banners

Like other patches, the Genshin Impact 3.1 update patch brings with it 4 banners for players to roll for.

 

The first 2 banners are that of Cyno and Venti that will run from the start of Patch 3.1 on the 28th of September for the duration of 3 weeks. The Phase 1 Banners will also notably includes the new 4* character Candance.

 

 

Following the 2 banners of phase one will be the banners of Nilou and Albedo, which will last for 2 weeks after the phase 1 banners.

 

Players should take this opportunity to roll for characters that they want and like.

 

 

In addition to the character banners, special new weapons will also be introduced and be rated up during the patch.

 

 

Genshin Impact 3.1 Banners - Should You Roll

With the banners in 3.1 featuring 4 different 5* characters, players should consider many aspects before attempting to roll on these banners.

 

Cyno

Cyno is a 5* Electro Spear-User Character with the ability to deal massive amounts of Electro damage when he’s in his Burst form, allowing him to be one of the few reliable Electro DPS options available in the game.

 

 

Cyno’s talent and abilities revolve around the manipulation of Elemental Mastery and dealing Elemental damage and Elemental Reactions Damage to enemies within his range.

 

His E is a simple plunge towards the enemies, disrupting their attack and dealing electro damage to them in an area. His Burst covers Cyno in an electro aura and allows him to deal Electro normal attack damage while in this new form, allowing him to have high Electro damage up time against large numbers of enemies at once. It is also important to note that Cyno’s Burst uptime is extremely high, allowing him to be in this mode almost constantly.

 

Nilou

Nilou is a 5* Hydro Sword-User Character that specializes in utilizing the Bloom Dendro Elemental Reaction to deal massive damage to enemies as well as using her unique dance-switching technique to attack enemies in various colorful ways.

 

 

Nilou’s strong point lies in her ability to switch her dance mode depending on the situation to deal with enemies however she likes. Depending on the Normal attack, E and Q combo, Nilou will perform different dances that grant her special effects unique to each dance such as a Hydro sword slash or a Hydro ring that applies the Wet status to all enemies around her.

 

Nilou’s Q applies the special Bountiful effect on allies and enemies around her, making the Dendro Cores produced from the Blooming effect become Bountiful Cores, which explodes faster and deal more Dendro damage than normal Cores, making her an extremely powerful character against large waves of enemies.

 

Venti and Albedo

In addition to the 2 new characters, Venti and Albedo will also get reruns during the 3.1 patches.

 

Venti, after 2 years in Genshin Impact, is still one of the best Anemo Element Characters with his ability to Crowd Control large amounts of smaller-sized enemies in addition to providing elemental shred and powerful Anemo damage.

 

Albedo is one of the core pillars for players of the Geo Element with his ability to deal damage even when he’s off-field, supplementing the damage side of the team in a wide radius in addition to providing the team with occasional shield and EM buffs.

 

Should You Pull?

It Depends. While all 4 characters on rate up are extremely powerful in their own right and have unique abilities that set them apart from others in the meta sense, with the anniversary coming up and the Sumeru Story Chapter coming to an end, there’s a chance of stronger and more powerful character to come in the future such as the Dendro Archon herself. Therefore, players should consider before spending their Primogems on these banners.
