Through this guide, we will teach you everything there is to know and provide gameplay tips to make your experience much smoother. The game is still in early access, but you can play Canyon Watch on PC with LDPlayer. So, without any further delay, let's begin.

What to Expect from Canyon Watch Gameplay

Unlike most battle royal or action games, in Canyon Watch there is currently no lobby or character creation option. As soon as you run the game, you will start your journey on the island, where you can explore and hang out with other players.

What to Expect from Canyon Watch Gameplay

According to the hint we got from the Canyon Watch's survey, in the future release, there will be some dungeons or other activities for players to do while exploring this island. But for now, this island has nothing to explore except enjoy the view.

By Interacting with the necromancer, located in the middle of the Canyon Watch island, you can join different battle modes of the game. Currently, you can only participate in the single-player battle royal mode, and other modes will be unlocked in the latter release. Once you click on the Battle for Glory mode, you will be queued with the other player who is currently active.

Where You Should Start

What is unique about Canyon Watch is that you get to decide on an area you want to start before the match begins. The map is broken up into 25 grids, and when the match starts, you will begin in a random place tied to the chosen area.

But every area you pick will not be advantageous or safe. If you want to loot, the area with ruins or buildings is the best. You can find loot generally everywhere on the map, but ruins have loot boxes close together more than the jungle area of the game.

At the same time, you have to know that these loot-filled areas are also the target of most players. So if you are choosing these areas, you will have to be ready to fight from the moment you start the match.

What Are There to Loot in Canyon Watch

For Now, the Canyon Watch only has several types of weapons, buffs, and skills. Let's dive deeper and get to know what you can collect in the game, and we will also explain what additional details you should know about them.

Which Canyon Watch Weapon is the Best

While on the battleground, you can collect three weapons that fit different fighting styles. The Twin Blade is the fastest, allowing you to move to your opponents with a dash, stun them, and start attacking.

If you like to move across the battlefield faster, this weapon will be perfect for you. However, you need to get some high rarity buffs to really deal damage. But if you are looking for raw power to smash your opponents, Heavy Sledgehammer may serve you well. Its two skills are also just focused on dealing damage.

Which Canyon Watch Weapon is the Best

Even though it is slow to swing, two to three hits normally send the opponents flying, and its special attack also slows down the opponents. This slowdown skill usually makes up for its slow swing speed.

But if you are looking for a more balanced option that can deal damage from far and close with decent damage, you might like Rapier and Staff. With it, you can start attacking before the opponents get to you, and with its skill, you can even pull them closer to start dealing damage.

One other thing you should know about Weapons is that, like most of the lootable items, they come in three qualities. You can depict the quilt with the colors, the highest quality weapons are orange color, and the lowest is white. With white weapons, you can do only the basic attacks, and as the quality increases, the two skills unlock.

How to Get Weapons in Canyon Watch

You can collect weapons from loot boxes, there are three types of boxes, and you have the chance to find weapons in all of the loot boxes. In purple color boxes, you have the chance to find first-level and second-level gear.

If you want to find level three weapons and items, you have to hunt down the Mastery gold box. These mastery gold boxes and purple boxes also have gold in them. You can collect and spend them in Aenta Shops located around the battle map.

The highest-level weapons cost 600 gold; you can also buy other items from here. When you have enough gold, click on the mini-map, set a marker on one of the gold bags, and follow the marker to get to the shop.

You can easily identify them; they look like the necromancer you found in the middle of the map. However, you are vulnerable to attacks while browsing the shop's inventory. So, make sure to decide on what you want to buy before interacting with the shop. Here is the list so you can pick what you like faster.

What to Know About Canyon Watch Special Items

You will see two other slots in your skill bar besides the weapons skill slots. These are the skills you have to collect from boxes or buy. Brute Sage Stone allows you to become a centaur and deal damage. This skill also stuns the enemy, so it is handy to have at all times. The Spirit Sage Stone, on the other hand, only deals damage and is slow to fire the beam.

What to Know About Canyon Watch Special Items

So it is best used on incapacitated enemies or during the execution of the skill; enemies have a chance to move out of the effective area. You can either buy them or find them in loot boxes. Since they provide good DPS and valuable effects, making them your second priority is not a bad idea.

Healing Items

If you take damage in, you can use the Coagulants to recover HP. Similar to weapons, Coagulants come in three realities. The orange rarity provides the highest healing; you can find them alongside weapons. You will find them in every 3 out of 2 boxes; though having them in your inventory is essential, spending money to buy them is not the best thing to do.

Tactical Items

Tactical items are invaluable in Canyon Watch close-quarter combat. Using them strategically can give you a chance to deal a few more extra blows to the enemy. Things like Glacial Code and Chains of Truth help you control the enemies' movement.

If you are using the Rapier and Staff, you can start the combat with one of these items and deal damage while keeping a safe distance. And even with the other weapons, these are great options to have. They are easily found scattered around the map and in loot boxes, but buying them is also an option if you have surplus gold.

Canyon Watch Special Buff Items

These items are buffs that enhance your stats and abilities in Canyon Watch. They are handy for gaining an edge over your opponents in battle.

  • Blade Sword Buff: This item boosts your ATK, which is your ability to deal damage with your weapon. The higher your ATK, the more damage you can inflict on your enemies. This item is excellent for aggressive players who like to attack their opponents head-on. However, it does not affect your Pierce Damage, which is a particular type of damage that ignores the enemy’s DEF.

  • Chaos Shield Buff: This item boosts your DEF, which is your ability to resist damage from your enemies. The higher your DEF, the less damage you take from regular attacks. This item is excellent for defensive players who like to survive longer and withstand enemy attacks. However, it does not protect you from Pierce Damage, which bypasses your DEF.

  • Soul Enhancement Buff: This item boosts your HP limit, which is the maximum amount of health you can have. The higher your HP limit, the more damage you can take before you die. This item is great for players who want to have more durability and sustain in the battle. However, it does not affect your HP recovery, which is the rate at which you regain health over time or by using healing items.

  • Resilience Eroder Buff: This item boosts your Pierce Damage, which is a particular type of damage that ignores the enemy’s DEF. The higher your Pierce Damage, the more damage you can deal to enemies with high DEF. This item is excellent for players who want to counter defensive opponents and deal consistent damage regardless of their armor. However, it does not affect your normal ATK, which is reduced by the enemy’s DEF.

  • Tempest Boots Buff: This item boosts your Move Speed, which is how fast you can move around the map. The higher your Move Speed, the faster you can reach your enemies, escape from danger, or collect items. This item is great for players who want to have more mobility and flexibility in the battle. However, it does not affect your Attack Speed, which is how fast you can swing or shoot your weapon.

How to Find Buff Items

Unlike other items you find in Canyon Watch, these buffs can be easily acquired. But you will only find the lower-level Buff Items on the map. If you want quality Buff Items, you have to get them from boxes or the shops. Which one you should prioritize depends on the playstyle and weapons you pick.

Defense buffs are always lovely to have, regardless of the weapon you play with. But if you are playing Twin Blade, investing in damage increase is the better choice. But you can play around all of the buff items to select the one you want first.

Lock or No Lock

While playing Canyon Watch next to your skills, you will find a small circle with a cross. Pressing this will allow you to lock on to your target. With Target lock on, you can dance around your opponent without losing the camera focus. Target Lock will enable you to dodge attacks and deal damage more easily. However, you should know that your attack and skill affect only the direction your character is facing.

Lock or No Lock

So while you are running around, make sure to face your target before executing them, or you will send your attacks to oblivion. Another thing you should do before using the lock is to see if there are other players, or you will have difficulty focusing on both. If possible, staying on the free look and keeping your distance from all players, is the best action.

Conclusion

Canyon Watch presents a unique and engaging take on the battle royale genre, offering players a medieval-themed combat experience that's both intense and strategic. As a beginner, navigating the game's mechanics and intricacies might seem daunting, but armed with the proper knowledge, you can conquer the Canyon Watch battlefield and emerge victorious.
