2021-12-13

Bloons TD Battles 2 or Battles 2 is a strategy genre tower defense game just like its prequel. Ninja Kiwi developed and published this game and served it as a spinoff version of Bloons TD 6. Battles 2 had launched recently on November 30 this year. Since then, it has been talk of the town.

As already mentioned, the game is the same as its predecessor, i.e., the player will have to prevent balloons sent by the opponent from crossing their track. In the meantime, they also need to gain points (game money) to purchase updates for the player and balloons to attack their opponent. Apart from this, the game has several upgrades and changes such as – Heroes, 3rd Upgrade path, new graphics, XP, and more.

Upon successful login, The Quincy (one of the characters) will take the player through the Battle School Tutorials. This tutorial is not mandatory, but you should go through with it. Battle School is comprised of Four Chapters. The initial two chapters will be required to access the online play.

These chapters will teach you about the game mechanics – how to place characters and earn money, send bloons towards the opponent, and exploit the opponent's weakness. Another reason is that once you complete all the four chapters of the Battle School Tutorial, you will unlock a character called Gwendolin and some other rewards.

Gameplay

In Battles 2, two players will play on a symmetric area as presented in the maps. This area will be divided vertically and contain some paths with an entry and an exit point. This is the path where the bloon (balloons) will cross through. If these balloons pass through the exit point of the player's side before the player destroys them, it will result in the deduction of some life points from a total of 150 points. The first player to reach 0 will lose the game.

You can use monkey and non-monkey towers to destroy the balloons. But at the same time, you have to attack the opponent too. You can attack the opponent by sending your Balloon rush towards them, in addition to the balloon they are receiving from the entry point. With each level, you unlock a certain type of balloon to attack the opponent. Income will be deducted when you will send a balloon to the enemy or use and upgrade a tower. You can return the tower to get your money (game money) back.

Balloon types

Red Balloon will be the first type of balloon that you will encounter. These balloons move slowly, and it takes just one hit to destroy them. The next balloon will be the Blue Balloon. It takes two hits to destroy them. The first hit will destroy its layer from which a red balloon will appear. The next hit will destroy it. In the same way -> Green, Yellow, Pink, Black, White, Zebra, Rainbow, Ceramic, and many more will appear with increased difficulty in layering and destruction.

You should also notice that some of the balloons will generate multiple child balloons, and some might take more time to destroy than others.

Towers

In total there are 22 towers collectively known as the Monkeys (although 5 of them are non-monkey towers). They will appear on the sidebar when the battle begins. The player will have to drag the monkeys from there to their side of the map. You can place them in any manner on the available space on your side. Most of the Towers will automatically attack the balloons using – Darts, acid, beams, fire, etc., depending upon which tower you use. A player can also upgrade the tower to make them more powerful. Some towers have a certain weakness against bloons. So choose your towers carefully.

Heroes – They are special towers that can upgrade themselves automatically. Heroes exist as characters in the game. A Player can use just one Hero per match.

Money

It's the main currency of Battles 2. It is used for buying and upgrading towers, sending balloon rushes, and many more things. Destroying a balloon does not result in income as it used to happen in Bloons TD 6. Instead, the players get an increment every 6 seconds. It is visible in the green bar located in the middle. This bar is known as Eco. There are ways to generate money. Sending Bloons can increase Eco. Though at later stages, they result in deduction of Eco. Another way is through Banana Farms.

How To Play?

The player selects the battle option from the menu. Then the player chose his Hero tower and three other towers that he wanted to use during the match. To use these towers, he must unlock them first. Then a map will be selected at random, showing the arena of battle. At the start, Both the player's hero characters will be visible to the other but not their other towers. There is a time limit to choose tower and Hero.

Both the players begin with pre-allocated Money and Eco. This Pre-allocated money is used to select a tower from the player's roster. After 6 seconds, the battle begins, and then the player can attack the opponent. Some attack balloons are locked, which will unlock as the round progresses.

Players get two boosting options: Bloon Boost & Monkey Boost. The former temporarily increases the speed of the bloon sent at the opponent's end, while the Latter increases the attack speed of the user's tower. Each boost can be used three times in a match and lasts for a limited time.

If any player loses all 150 life points, he will lose the game, and it ends. But in case none of them lost all the points before level 40, then the player with the most points wins. Also, if they both have the same points at this level, Sudden Death is activated. It means the first player to leak a balloon will lose automatically.
