Not being able to choose which server you want sucks because a lot of them don't work well for me, meaning I have to usually switch a couple times to find one that will work. Now it autoconnects you to one, and you can randomly switch it once but then you're on a cooldown before you can switch it again. Disappointed tbh. Instead of taking away features for free users, isn't it better to add features to the paid tier? That way you're still enticing subscribers without making people upset.
You replaced useful features with useless eye-candy! Why completely change something that was working just fine? With the removal of profiles and other functionality, the latest update makes me want to stop paying for service. I need to CONVENIENTLY change to TCP protocol at work and back to "Smart" at other times. Not go into settings every time, like I now have to. Between this now useless app, and a less than fully functional mail app, I'm on the verge of exiting the entire Proton realm!
It's sad to see basic features like allowing LAN connection locked behind a paywall. It's still one of the best free VPNs available, and I'm definitely gratfeul for it, but I don't the direction it's been headed to recently. Edit: I totally respect that. I don't exactly have a right to complain as a free user. It's just a little inconvenient to have to disconnect the VPN to use the local network. Regardless, thanks a lot for the free services. I wish I could support Proton with a subscription.
