Etymologically the word 'interpretation' comes from al-fasru which means clear and real. In Lisan al-Arab Ibn Manzur mentions al-fasru means to open the veil, while at-tafsir means to uncover the meaning of words that are not understood1. From the etymological definition of interpretation, interpretation can be interpreted as opening the veil for something that is visible to the eye and also means revealing the meaning of words.
