Qurban comes from the Arabic word "Qariba-Yaqrabu-Qurbanan" which means close. In terms of language, qurban can be interpreted as getting closer to Allah SWT by carrying out his orders. Quoted from the book Fiqh by Ubaidillah (2020: 18), the meaning of qurban from the point of view of Islamic law is to slaughter livestock that meet certain conditions on Eid al-Adha and tasyrik days (11th, 12th, 13th of Zulhijah) solely for worship and get closer to Allah SWT.
