Doge Dash Beginner's Guide for Getting Started

 

Doge Dash is a new Play-to-earn endless runner developed by Doge Studios. The game lets you earn real money by paying 100 DodgeDash coins to enter the challenge and stand a chance of winning as many as 10,000 DodgeDash coins from the game. 

 

It's an exciting and beneficial concept, seeing how Play-to-earn titles have been making their way to mobile in the last couple of months. This is just the latest addition that offers entirely free-to-play gameplay even if you're not willing to bet real money on the game in hopes of earning more. 

 

Pay-To-Earn games usually come with a set of fallbacks, such as the tendency to focus more on the earning aspect than actually making a fun and interesting game. But for this one, it's got some pretty cool features that'll make some see it as a Super Mario-inspired game. 

 

It's got the whole Super Mario jump and slams enemies gameplay, so yeah, it takes inspiration from the acclaimed Nintendo game, but this time instead of spending all the coins you collect from running, you get to keep them and even convert them to real money. 

 

 

Dodge Dash Earning System

The gameplay, as mentioned above, tasks slight inspiration from Super Mario but concentrates heavily on the Pay-To-Earn element that sort of takes away most of the fun from the players. Since it's a Pay-To-Earn game, most players won't even play for the sake of enjoying the game, but they'll be playing to earn some coins.

 

Well, even though this game is Pay-To-Earn, you can't just start earning immediately as you commence playing. The game is challenging, and only skilled players can scale through and reach level 10, which is the level you can claim your collected coins. 

 

So if you play the game and strive to reach up to level 8-9 and die before reaching level 10, you'll lose all the coins you've earned so far. We're unsure if you'll be required to pass level 10 to keep your collected coins, or you only need to reach level 10 (even if you get killed in it) to claim the collected coins. 

 

Level 10 is where the doghouse is situated, and it could be the last level, but we've not been able to get up to that point just yet as the game's difficulty is easily belittled but can be surprisingly challenging. 

 

 

Gameplay

You'll probably enjoy this game more if you play from the 'having a good time' side rather than the 'playing to make some money side of it. You could do both either way. The gameplay is pretty interesting as it brings back the good old memories of Super Mario games, but this time, you get to control a cute puppy who represents the Doge. 

 

The gameplay sees you jumping and jumping even higher to evade enemies. You can tap the right side of the screen to jump a short jump while pressing and holding the right side of the screen will see you jump even higher, like a double jump. 

 

So you get the image already. It's also a fast-paced runner, so you have no control over how fast the puppy runs or how fast the enemies approach can be; all you have to do is jump to collect coins and evade enemies. 

 

While this is very interesting, the game's overall quest is kind of a letdown since you can't keep any of the coins you've collected until you've reached level 10. And the enemies can be challenging too if you're not careful. 

 

 

Evading enemies

Like most fast-paced runners out there, the types of enemies in this game are the types you'd expect. Enemies are coming from above, below, and even middle attacking enemies. The enemies coming from above are the easiest to evade because you don't even have to jump to dodge them. 

 

On the other hand, some enemies attack from below, and you must jump them to move on to the next level. Be careful, though, because while trying to dodge the enemy from below, you might need to time and perfect your jump, so it does not allow you to clash or jump right into an enemy from above. 

 

Every level in the game sees you face up to new enemies and challenges you to come up with ways of overcoming them, even if the only thing you have control over is your jumping. But that's where the Super Mario-ish style of passing enemies unscathed comes into play. 

 

Remember how you can jump on top of enemies and knock them down in Super Mario? Well, you can do that here too. You can jump high and land on enemies to knock them out and run safely past them. However, not all enemies can be knocked down. Some enemies have dangerously sharp edges on the outside that instead of knocking them down after jumping on them, you'll knock yourself out instead, and that's mission failed. 

 

We suggest using the double jump feature more often instead of the single jump because the double jump feature lets you evade enemies better and keeps you in the sky long enough for some enemies to pass along before you get back to the ground. 

 

 

Conclusion

Depending on the level you find yourself in, you'll come across various types of enemies almost every time. The first level sees you evading birds (which is easy), and slowly you'll move on to evading bees that will attack from both above and below, trying to sting you and put you down. 

 

So levels 2, 3, 4, and up to level 10 will have different enemies with different attack modes just waiting to put you down. You'll face brain-eating zombies at some point. It'll be hard to get past them, considering how many they'll be, but we guess that you'll have to use the double jump and keep on jumping on them to knock them out.
