Babelan is a sub-district in Bekasi Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. Babelan is bordered by Tarumajaya in the west, Java Sea in the northwest, Muara Gembong in the north, Sukawangi in the east, Tambun Utara in the southeast, and North Bekasi in the south. The name Babelan comes from Baba Land, namely the Landlord who has a very large land. In the past, Babylon was an area that had many rice fields and agricultural products. Babylon has undergone several word changes. In the past, Bekasi was inhabited by mostly ethnic Chinese and over time, Jakarta residents began to come where Jakartans had a distinctive 'e' accent in their pronunciation, thus changing the name Baba Land to Babe-land or in pronunciation to Babelan until now.
