⚫ The Judiciary is a distinct and independent arm of Government entrusted with judicial authority, and mandated to administer and deliver justice to the people of India. It plays a fundamental role in the promotion of law and order, human rights, social justice, morality and good governance.
⚫ Who is a petitioner in court?
"Petitioner" refers to the party who petitioned the Supreme Court to review the case. This party is variously known as the petitioner or the appellant. "Respondent" refers to the party being sued or tried and is also known as the appellee.
⚫ The independence of the Judiciary is guaranteed by the constitution in a number of its provisions regarding among others, the appointment, removal, salary and other conditions of service of judicial officers. The core of the Judiciary's independence is the absence of any interference for the Executive or the Legislature in judicial decisions.
⚫ How many judges are in Patna High Court?
At present there are 29 permanent Judges including the Chief Justice and 14 Additional Judges. In the year 1916, when the Patna High Court was created, there were 11 judgeships under its control in Bihar and one in Orissa.

✓ the court the lawsuit was filed, represented by letters or numbers.
⚫ What is original suit in court?
Original suit is suit filed at court of first instance. For eg, If suit is filed in District court then the suit is original suit in District court. Though the same case can reach a higher court in appeal, the original suit would still be considered to be filed in District court (court of first instance.)
⚫ How to Become a Judge
✓ Earn a bachelor's degree.
✓ The first step in the process is earning a bachelor's degree so that you can apply to law school.
✓ Take the LSAT. In order to apply to law school, you'll have to take the LSAT.
✓ Earn a Juris Doctorate (JD)
✓ Pass the Bar.
✓ Practice as a Lawyer.
✓ Obtain Judgeship.

The definition of a pending case is a case in which a judgment has not been entered. Writs of possession and writs of execution are post-judgment processes handled by the clerk. The report is intended to capture the activity of the judge.
