Recently, the study of tasawuf or or spiritual themes has become increasingly popular among the Indonesian people. This is an exciting phenomenon. Although it needs to be straightened out so as not to get stuck in fatalism that does not match Islamic teachings.
With the intention of enriching the discourse on spirituality and the study of Sufism, we ventured to publish one of the books related to this theme, namely the issue of isti'adzah (asking for God's protection). This concept, to our knowledge, has not been discussed relatively much. In fact, this concept is no less important than the concept of basmalah which has been frequently discussed from various perspectives by leading scholars. In fact, if the reader pays attention to the isti'adzah alif-ba-ta, the reader can conclude that this concept should be understood first so that he can actually practice the contents of the basmalah.
Originally, this book was a collection of lectures by Ayatullah Sayyid Abdul Husain Dasteghib in the month of Ramadan. However, the contents of this book itself are not bound by time considering that the discussion transcends the aspect of time. We mean that this book can be read whenever the reader feels the need to understand the concept of isti'adzah.
A number of illustrations presented in this book emphasize the aroma and fragrance of Irfan which is the author's area of expertise. The simplicity of the style of language does not reduce its spiritual content. The practicality of this book, due to the simplicity of its language, God willing, does not detract from the high quality of its studies.
Finally, we hope that this book can lead Indonesian Muslims to a high level of piety through improving the concept of isti'adzah.
Hopefully the material content of this application can be useful for self-introspection and better improvement in everyday life.
