Ibérico 2.0 Description
It allows to know the traceability of a ham or shoulder certified by the IBÉRICO QUALITY STANDARD (RD. 4/2014).
Each piece is individually identified with a unique and inviolable seal.
Traceability shows information throughout the chain, from pig production (birth of the pig and its fattening) to the preparation of the final product that reaches the consumer.
The IBERIAN QUALITY STANDARD obliges all Iberian cuts (hams and shoulders) to carry one of the 4 identification seals:
- BLACK for 100% Iberico Bellota Ham and Shoulder
- RED for Acorn-fed Iberian Ham and Shoulder (75% and 50%)
- GREEN for Campo Ibérico Cebo Ham and Shoulder (100%, 75% and 50%)
- WHITE for Iberian Cebo Ham and Shoulder (100%, 75% and 50%)
The seal system is a commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Iberian sector to offer consumers the maximum guarantees of safety, quality and authenticity.
