Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the economic sectors that are very important for Indonesia's economic growth. However, MSME actors often experience difficulties in accessing financing from financial institutions because they do not have additional collateral or are not considered bankable.
To overcome this problem, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs launched the People's Business Credit Program (KUR) in 2007. This program aims to increase access to finance for MSME players with a guarantee pattern.
KUR loan funds are provided in the form of funds for working capital needs and investments which are channeled to individual/individual MSME actors, business entities, and/or business groups that have productive and viable businesses but do not yet have additional collateral or are feasible but not yet bankable. Funding disbursed comes from banking funds or financial institutions which are KUR distributors.
One of the financial institutions that distributes KUR is Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). To apply for KUR at BRI, prospective borrowers can download the BRI KUR application which is available on the Play Store and App Store.
