Late 1980s. In an era where parents fight for survival, neglected children form street gangs, fighting for control of the streets. This is the time when every inch of “their” land is worth fighting for. In the midst of general poverty, there are clear rules of survival, the support of comrades and the word of a boy, which is more valuable than an oath.

14-year-old Andrei, coming from an intelligent family, studying at a music school and living with his mother and younger sister, finds himself in a world where street teenagers rule the rules. He faces constant peer pressure and, to protect himself, forms an alliance with the Gopniks. Among them is 14-year-old Marat, who introduces Andrei to the complex reality of street life.
