By death, what is meant is the exit of the soul from the body, and the stillness of the body, and by it the transition from the life of this world to the afterlife, and death is the opposite of the life inherent in the soul and the body and its connection with it, and the Muslim knows that the life of this world is a stage that a person passes through; To reach the home of the Hereafter, for which he was created, and to settle in it, and God Almighty mentioned that clearly in His Holy Book, where He said: (He who created death and life to test you which of you is best in deed, and He is the Mighty The Forgiving), so death came as a way to reach the Hereafter, as stated in The honorable verse, and the Muslim who understands the reality of death and life must prepare for this day, and put it before his eyes throughout his life, because it is the surest certainty among the realities of the whole world. The prophets escaped it first, and it was stated in Islamic law how to deal with the dead from the moment of his death, and how to respect him, and preserve his sanctity after his death, and this appeared by the fact that the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - explained the correct way to wash and shroud the dead before lowering him into the grave.
