Advance Through the Main Chapters

In Edenight: Idle RPG, if you want to unlock all the game modes first, the thing you should do is start clearing the chapter battles. In addition to unlocking new content for you to play, clearing chapters earns you free characters, gems, free summons, and skill upgrades from the chapter progress. These resources will come in handy when you want to level up your heroes. However, when you want to clear them, you have to first know how to create a team. So let's explore how to select the best heroes and strengthen them.

Choosing Your Team

With a ton of summonings given out for free, you can easily put together a team of good heroes in Edenight: Idle RPG. But before you start including them in your team, the first thing you should look at is their skills. If the hero has 4 skills, that means the hero can be leveled up and brought to the power level of super rare characters. These are their lower variants. If you don't have any SSR heroes yet, these variants are a good choice for your team.

Choosing Your Team

The next thing you should check is what their skills do. Some heroes can heal others (healers), some heroes can stun and interrupt enemy attacks or lower their efficiency with debuffs (support), and some have shield abilities with skills that can make enemies attack them instead of their teammates (tank).

A staple of every good team is a good tank and healer. In the early stages of Edenight: Idle RPG, you can use the five-star variant of Maggie (tank) and Maria (healer/support). They are relatively easy to acquire and they do a good job. The next step is to find DPS characters. In the game, there are no pure DPS characters; all of their attacks have some kind of secondary effects. When choosing a DPS, what you should look into are these secondary effects.

For example, Sophie's first skill deals 105% magic damage and has a 50% chance to apply burning effects to their enemies. But she does not use this burning effect to increase her damage or activate any other effect. This has use in the faction system, but until you have a few heroes of the same faction, this effect only increases her damage by a small amount. But if we take a Edenight: Idle RPG character like Nancy, her skill does the same amount of damage to enemies, but her skill has a chance to put a tear effect on the targets.

The tear effect reduces the healing, and since most enemy teams you meet have healers, you will be able to negate their healers' efficacy with it and win the battle early. Just like this, when creating teams with random heroes, this is the approach that works the best. Now you may be wondering what the deal with the Edenight: Idle RPG faction system and secondary effects is. Let's explore that now.

Taking Advantage of the Faction System

If you take a look at your Edenight: Idle RPG character's portrait in the agent section, you will see that each character has a symbol similar to a water drop, mountain, or flame. These icons indicate the faction to which the character belongs. This comes into play when you create a team.

Taking Advantage of the Faction System

When you add three agents of the same faction, you get HP and Attack buffs, and you can add a total of five heroes of the same faction to get a 20% max HP bonus and a 16% attack bonus. This effect activates when you have characters belonging to other factions filling in the formation, but if you make a full single faction team, these bonuses change as follows:

  • 6 agents from Wind: HP +25%, attack +20%, crit 10%

  • 6 agents from Water: HP +25%, attack +20%, effect hit chance +7%

  • 6 agents from Fire: HP +25%, attack +20%, crit damage +20%

  • 6 agents from Earth: HP +25%, attack +20%, crit resistance +10%

In addition to the main four factions of Edenight: Idle RPG, there are two more special factions. These faction heroes can be placed in a team, and they will count as the highest number of hero factions you have. For example, if you have 3 Fire and 2 Earth heroes, then the Light or Dark faction hero you add will be counted as Fire and activate the faction advantage.

Dark & Light

If you have a lot of Dark and Fire heroes, then you can activate the Light & Dark faction bonuses by adding six of them to your team and get a 30% HP bonus and a 25% attack bonus. If you make the team with Light heroes, you get an additional damage bonus of 15%, and if you make the team with Dark heroes, then you get 15% damage mitigation.

Light in the Shadow

Then there is another buff in Edenight: Idle RPG faction system you can activate with these heroes called "Light in the Shadow." To do this, you need to add 3 agents from the Light and 3 agents from the Dark faction. When you make a team like this, in addition to the 20% HP bonus and Attack bonus of 16% for each hero, each attack has a chance to apply a Light mark or Dark mark on enemies for 2 rounds. When the Light mark is applied, the damage done by the enemy target is reduced by 10%, and the Dark mark reduces the target's damage mitigation by 10%.

Special Faction Effects

Just like the "Light in the Shadow" team mentioned earlier, you can create a team combining agents from the main four factions of Edenight: Idle RPG to activate special effects. Let's see what they are:

  • Glacial Wind: This effect activates when you add 3 Water and 3 Wind agents to your team. When this team is in place, all team members' attacks have a chance to trigger the Glacial Wind. Glacial Wind deals 20% of the attacker's damage to a random enemy. This attack guarantees 100% damage because it ignores all defense of the target.

  • Howling Flame: To activate this effect, 3 of your agents must be from the Fire faction, and 3 agents should be from the Wind faction. When this team is in effect, if there is an enemy with a burning effect on them, any attack one of your team's agents does has a 60% chance to add a burning effect to a random enemy for 2 turns. This has no cooldown, so once activated, there is a chance to apply the burning effect throughout the battle. However, you need to add a character like Sophie, and their secondary attack effect will trigger the Howling Wind.

  • Dirt Gale: To activate this, You need 3 Wind and 3 Earth agents in your team. This team's attacks have a 20% chance to activate Dirt Gale on the enemy lineup, reducing their defense by 20% for 2 rounds. This effect can't be dispelled and to apply again, it has to end the one activated before.

  • Water Flame: Having 3 agents of Water and 3 agents of Fire in your team will trigger this effect. This effect increases the hit chance of all team members by 10% and attack by 15% for 4 rounds.

  • Deep Marsh: To activate this effect, you need 3 Water and 3 Fire agents in your team. When this team is in place, all team members have a chance to trigger the Deep Marsh effect, reducing the enemies' speed by 10% for 2 rounds. This effect can't be stacked or dispelled.

  • Stone Blast: Adding 3 agents from Fire and 3 from Earth to your team will give your team members a 20% chance to trigger Stone Blast. This effect deals 20% of your highest agent's attack damage to all enemies for 2 rounds.

How to Use Faction Effects?

In Edenight: Idle RPG, to effectively use these effects when creating a team, you can tailor your strategies based on the content you're engaging with. Each effect serves a different purpose and can be utilized to enhance your team's efficiency and power. For instance, in PvP battles, if you're up against formations like Fortress or tanks that heavily rely on defense, you can employ Dirt Gale to neutralize their defense bonuses and gain an advantage on the battlefield. Additionally, these effects can be used to counter faction team buffs, further diversifying your tactical options.

However, leveling up multiple agents to utilize these effects may seem daunting due to resource limitations. To overcome this challenge, you can leverage the level sync feature and focus on farming resources efficiently. Level sync allows you to elevate lower-level heroes to the level of your highest-level heroes, optimizing your team composition without spreading your resources too thin.

Learning about resource accumulation areas of Edenight: Idle RPG becomes crucial in this endeavor. By identifying and prioritizing areas where you can farm resources effectively, you can accumulate the necessary materials to level up your agents and unlock their full potential.

Earning Resources

There are several avenues through which you can gather resources in Edenight: Idle RPG, though some require time and dedication. One easy method is the idle system, which becomes available after unlocking the City. This system automatically generates resources, and progressing through the main story chapters can increase its output. Utilize the fast reward option to collect two hours' worth of resources each time, especially before logging off for the day, to maximize your rewards based on your chapter progress.
