In 2023, due to their ignorance, humans dumped nuclear waste into the ocean, which led to a catastrophic consequence. The pollution from the nuclear waste triggered the emergence of a deadly virus in the sea. As the seawater evaporated and circulated through the atmosphere, the virus spread rapidly, causing a massive outbreak that nearly wiped out humanity. The virus was unstoppable due to its incredibly fast transmission speed. It was irreversible, incurable, and most tragically, it was almost a product of human actions.

Dr. Max, a brilliant virologist from Florida, discovered in his research institute that many creatures in the deep sea still maintained a healthy ecosystem. This led him to speculate that the antidote to the virus might be hidden in the ocean's depths. On the eve of the laboratory virus outbreak, Dr. Max decided to put himself into a state of suspended animation and set sail, drifting on the vast ocean. However, his cryogenic life-support system malfunctioned, causing him to lose significant memories.

When he awoke, his ship was docked at the pier of Molokai Island. As a bird flew overhead, he experienced a splitting headache and felt an inkling that all of this was somehow related to the purpose of his arrival on the island. Next, he needed to explore the island and find the true objective of his journey.
