Free Fire OB55 Update Release Date

OB55 launches globally on September 16, 2026, including Free Fire MAX. New weapons and major weapon balance changes arrive October 1 with the next Clash Squad season.

So, the main OB55 update arrives on September 16, while players will have to wait a little longer for the new weapon lineup and major weapon class changes.

Free Fire OB55 Naruto Collaboration Returns

One of the biggest additions in OB55 is the return of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1. The collaboration adds Naruto-themed content to both Battle Royale and Clash Squad. You can expect returning locations, Ninjutsu skills, special weapons, and new events during matches.

Free Fire OB55 Naruto Collaboration Returns

Nine-Tails Returns to Battle Royale

Nine Tails is back in Battle Royale, and it can directly change how a match starts. There are a number of things that can happen at the start of a match. Nine Tails can attack the plane with a Tailed Beast Bomb, igniting the plane and forcing players to jump when the countdown ends. It can also destroy Arsenals on Bermuda. This lets players collect high-tier loot without needing an Arsenal Key.

Another possible event creates a loot-filled crater on Bermuda, giving players another reason to change their landing plans. During the match, players can also find Sharingan: Control. Capture it and choose an area to attack. After a five-second countdown, Nine Tails will fire a Tailed Beast Bomb at the chosen location. The explosion does 60 damage in 100 meters. After this 8 to 10 flame areas can be seen. These last for 5 to 10 seconds and deal continuous damage to players inside them.

Nine-Tails Returns to Battle Royale

Hidden Leaf Village Returns

Hidden Leaf Village returns, becoming the default lobby on all maps. Players can explore the ramen area and the new Ninja Academy, where an interactive swing grants a permanent 5% movement speed boost.

Reanimation Revival Points

Revival Points are getting a Naruto-themed change too. When players capture a Revival Point, stone coffins appear. Once the point is captured, eliminated teammates can return to the battlefield from these coffins. Revived players also receive temporary protection and revival supplies.

Gamakichi Summoning

You can also find Gamakichi summoning scrolls around the map. Interact with these scrolls to receive useful battle supplies. It is a small addition, but it gives Naruto fans another themed activity to look for during matches.

Naruto Features in Clash Squad

The Naruto collaboration is also coming to Clash Squad. Several Naruto-themed changes are being added to the mode:

  • Ninjutsu and Kunai can be purchased from the CS Store.
  • Pistols are replaced by Shurikens in the first round.

Naruto Features in Clash Squad

  • Cyber Airdrops are replaced by Ninjutsu Scroll Airdrops.
  • Hidden Leaf Village is added to the map pool.

These changes should make Clash Squad feel noticeably different while the collaboration is active.

New Ninjutsu Skills

Several Naruto abilities are returning in Free Fire OB55 update, along with a new skill called 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation.

New Ninjutsu Skills

8 Trigrams Palm Rotation

This new Ninjutsu skill lets you dash forward and create a rotating Chakra shield for 3.5 seconds.

The shield can:

  • Knock back nearby enemies
  • Deal 25 damage
  • Absorb bullets
  • Deflect some throwables

Other Ninjutsu Skills

The returning Ninjutsu skills include:

  • Fireball Jutsu: Deals 30 damage within 4 meters and burns enemies and Gloo Walls.
  • Water Dragon Jutsu: Deals 30 damage within 5 meters and briefly blocks the enemy's view.
  • Great Breach: Deals 30 damage, slows enemies by 50%, and reduces their rate of fire by 20%.
  • Rasengan: Deals 70 damage while reducing movement speed by 50% and rate of fire by 20%.
  • Chidori: Deals 100 damage and prevents enemies from using Gloo Walls and the minimap for 3 seconds.
  • Cherry Blossom Clash: Deals 50 damage and knocks the enemy backward.

Naruto Features in Clash Squad

Shuriken and Kunai Are Back

In Free Fire OB55, Shuriken and Kunai will come back as secondary weapons, giving players more options for close and mid-range combat. The effects differ from one type to another, so picking the right one can make it easier for you to deal with enemies.

Weapon Details
Light Shuriken Designed for close-range fights. Throws three Shurikens one after another, dealing 17–28 damage each depending on distance.
Heavy Shuriken Better for mid-range combat. Throws one fast Shuriken that deals 30–60 damage.
Fiery Kunai Explodes after a short delay, dealing 50–80 damage within 5 meters and applying burning damage.
Lightning Kunai Prevents affected enemies from using throwables or their minimap for 3 seconds.
Wind Kunai Slows enemies by 20%–50% for 3 seconds, depending on their distance from the explosion.

New Battle Royale Random Events

The Free Fire OB55 patch notes introduce several new random events that can change how a Battle Royale match plays out. Some events improve certain weapon types, while others can make specific areas more dangerous. The Free Fire OB55 update also adds more random events on October 1.

Random Event What Happens
Peak Mania Available on Bermuda. Peak has more SMGs, shotguns, and melee weapons, making it better for close-range fights.
Razing Storm A destructive storm can appear on the map. Find cover inside buildings to stay safe.
Weapon Surge Certain weapon types receive temporary boosts, such as lower AR spread, higher AR armor penetration, and better SMG accuracy or armor penetration.
No Random Event Players can choose this option if they want a normal match without random event effects.
Airdrops? Meteors! Coming October 1. Regular Airdrops will fall as meteors.

Major Airdrop Changes

The Free Fire OB55 patch notes bring several airdrop changes, making these drops easier to spot and more rewarding to contest.

Clash Squad Gets New Grenades

These new throwables add more tactical options to Clash Squad, from area damage to enemy detection.

  • Flame Grenade: Creates flames for 6 seconds, damaging enemies, reducing armor durability, and damaging Gloo Walls. Teammates can also take damage from the flames.
  • Sonar Grenade: Scans a 10-meter radius and reveals enemy locations for 3 seconds, making it useful against enemies hiding behind cover.
  • Smoke Grenade: Its effect has been adjusted to match the Smoke Vortex effect available through the Tactical Market.

Four New Weapons Coming on October 1

Four new weapons arrive October 1 with the next Clash Squad season.

Weapon Details
M7 Fully automatic Assault Rifle with high damage and good accuracy. Its new recoil system gradually pulls the weapon upward while firing, making it useful at medium and long range.
Skorp High-rate-of-fire SMG with strong armor penetration, designed for fast close-range fights.
RPK Light Machine Gun with strong firepower and Assault Rifle-like mobility. It also uses the new recoil system.
Hawk Sniper rifle that carries only two rounds but has very high burst potential. Landing both shots quickly can eliminate enemies with low-level armor.
