Great concept, but poor execution. My main complaint is that whenever I use the app, it disables my Bluetooth headset. Mind you, these are GOOGLE HEADPHONES! Every time I use the app it happens. It depends on the day, but they divert audio every two minutes to every couple hours. And it's not like the headphones are disconnected or that Bluetooth is turned off somehow, it just disables audio output through my headphones. The only way I've found to fix it is to turn Bluetooth off and on again.
I'm fairly biased towards Google, but I do really like their video meeting solution. It had some issues in the beginning (like lack of grid view), but they've addressed this over the past few months. The desktop app is great, but the mobile app could use some work. I don't like the portrait layout, it would be nice to have a full screen video option in portrait similar to Google Duo.
This app lacks features. Pros: it is included with my g-suite, and the closed captioning feature is fantastic and seems quite accurate. Cons: you can't choose your gallery view, when you are filming you can't make yourself whole screen-this is not helpful when using it to virtually show a space, you can't be sure of what you are showing the audience. Scheduling a meeting from the app (vs PC) doesn't seem to be an option. No recording option is available. Switching views in the app is clunky.
