The countdown is on. In just a few days, Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 Phantom Current drops on July 30, 2026 at 5 PM PT, and the deep-sea theme is packing more than pretty blueprints. You’re about to get the first-ever Gulag in Battle Royale, a wild RC-XD racing mode called Mini Mayhem, a free new light machine gun that can lock down objectives, a full Girls’ Frontline crossover with free Epic rewards, and a menacing Dark Shepherd Mythic Operator. So, this is the Phantom Current CODM guide that walks you through every new mode, weapon, reward track, and smart play so you hit the ground running instead of scrambling.

COD Mobile S7 Phantom Current goes live July 30, 2026 at 5 PM PT. The season runs roughly six weeks and wraps the usual ranked reset, Battle Pass progression, and limited-time events around a high-seas, underwater aesthetic. You can wait looking for nautical operator skins, blueprints with wave and depth motifs, and event art that leans hard into the “phantom current” idea of something powerful moving just beneath the surface.
The three biggest firsts arriving together are the Girls’ Frontline crossover event Finding Scylla, the Mini Mayhem RC-XD racing mode, and the long-requested Gulag finally landing in Battle Royale on the Isolated map.
Mini Mayhem turns the classic RC-XD scorestreak into a pure racing experience with this new COD Mobile S7 Phantom Current. Up to eight players (or solo) can jump into remote-control cars and race multi-lap courses built from familiar maps. There will be a Desert Race (Collateral variant) and Snow Race (Crossroads variant), each offered in one-lap and two-lap versions.

The goal is simple: cross the finish line first. After the leader finishes, everyone else has a short window (around 10 seconds) to complete or get disqualified. Higher placements earn more Rush Coins, which unlock permanent Mini Car skins usable only inside the mode. A leaderboard tracks your best runs so you can climb for bragging rights and extra rewards.
For the first time in COD Mobile, the Gulag arrives as a limited-time feature exclusive to Isolated. After your first elimination you are pulled into a 1v1 deathmatch arena. Win and you drop back into the match. Lose and you’re out for good (additional re-entries may become available via Gulag Tickets at Buy Stations depending on final implementation).

This single change softens the sting of early deaths and encourages more aggressive hot drops. If you’ve been sitting out BR because one bad landing ends the session, COD Mobile Phantom Current is the perfect season to jump back in.
The headline free weapon of the Phantom Current CODM is the MG 82, which is a high rate-of-fire LMG with a generous magazine that shines at locking down lanes, Hardpoint, Domination, and mid-to-long range suppression. It unlocks on the free Battle Pass track, so every player gets access.

Meta will shift once the full balance patch lands, but the MG 82 already looks like a solid free option that rewards disciplined positioning over pure run-and-gun.
A new Bomb Drone scorestreak also arrives on the free track, giving another tactical tool for clearing buildings or finishing weakened squads. The Drill Charge appears as a reskinned C4 with nautical flair.
The crossover centers on the free event Finding Scylla (also referred to as Searching for Scylla). Complete daily logins, multiplayer matches, Battle Royale challenges, and other spread-out tasks to earn themed rewards, highlighted by a free Epic M16A4 skin styled after the collaboration.

The tasks pull from modes you already play so the free track is highly accessible. Start these the moment the season opens so you don’t have to rush near the event close.
Premium side of the crossover includes a Lucky Draw featuring the Scylla: a ASM10 operator and the matching Legendary ASM10 weapon blueprint, plus themed bundles and Strongboxes packed with additional Girls’ Frontline cosmetics. Remember that Legendary and Mythic items in COD Mobile are purely cosmetic as there are no hidden stat advantages so the free MG 82 and a well-built free weapon will still compete.
Running alongside the crossover is the Dark Shepherd: Phantom Mythic Draw. This menacing reaper-style operator comes with an upgrade path that unlocks new kill effects, exclusive reticles, visual variants, and Battle Royale-specific elements. The draw also includes two Legendary weapons: AS-VAL, a Shadow Marksman and the melee Scythe — Soldering Edge.

If you plan to chase Mythics this season, make sure budget early and watch for any double COD Points offers in the official web store.
The Battle Pass follows the familiar free and premium structure, but the free track is unusually generous with functional items.
