This War Of Mine: The Board Ga Overview
[DISCLAIMER: THIS APP IS NOT A GAME ITSELF BUT A COMPANION APP FOR AN EXISTING PHYSICAL BOARDGAME!]
TWOM: TBG is a faithful adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game by the same title, created by 11bit studios.
The board game brings over 1900 unique story snippets in the form of the Book of Scripts.
You will be able to share the experience with up to 5 other people but also to play solo.
This tabletop title features Open and Play mechanism - there is no need to read the manual before playing, all you need to do is set up the game components.
This companion app features a digital version of the Book of Scripts as well as a few game variants:
- Alternative Scavenging mode (Timer and Noise Detector)
- Lockpicking mini-game for opening closed doors
- Save Game mechanism
Decent app that attempts to replace the book of scripts and save sheet while also adding some additional optional mini games. The review score has been tanked by people not realizing this is not a stand alone game app and is useless without the board game. But still, the script is not all there either. Entry 900 for example appears to be cut off. As one other top review stated, you will still want the book of scripts nearby. Looking forward to trying the timed scavenger mode.
Great concept, but not much good if the book is more useful. E.g. script 700 in the book contains more stuff than it does in the app. Why? The app is supposed to replace the need for the book, this inconsistency means the book always had to be checked, so why use the app ever again?
I do hope this app would be updated with actual book of scripts especially with Polish language version which I use. All and all this companion app is a great idea but after this whole time it's not what it should be.
