It's a good version of the game with a great secret level. Unfortunately, the controls don't work too well. A lot of the time I will press a direction and the character won't move or I'll jump and they won't jump. It would also be great if Knuckles required three button taps to turn into Super Knuckles. That way you could still glide when you have all emeralds and 50+ rings without turning Super. A decent port with control problems.
yep its sonic 2 alright. pretty much the same as the sonic 1 port but it's in wide-screen and sonic 2 is just better than sonic 1. ads are still there and yeah they're still annoying. one thing I forgot to mention in my sonic 1 review is the controls. in short they suck. mainly when you have to do any precise platforming the controls really bog down the experience. but at the end of the day sonic 2 is still a fantastic game. the controls suck but its still a great port of a great game.
I can't play the game at all. The menus work fine, but as soon as I get into the actual game, it pauses. I can try to unpause it, but it'll re-pause automatically. Oh, the part where it'll take your $2 to remove ads works fine too. So I guess I know what their priorities are. Update: The issue with trying to play this game with an actual controller has still not been addressed.
