Ramadan 2023 Description
Hello
We offer written and audio Ramadan supplications for you, and we pray to God to accept our fasting and prayers, and to have forgiven us for our past and future sins.
The month of Ramadan is the ninth month in the Hijri calendar, and it is a special month for Muslims in which the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on Laylat al-Qadr, one of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
The month of Ramadan is an important month in the Islamic calendar, and in the UAE, as it is considered the month of goodness, piety, and charity. During the month, Muslims abstain from food and drink during the period between sunrise and sunset. Fasting Ramadan is the fourth of the five pillars of Islam.
The beginning and end of the month of Ramadan are determined by the lunar Islamic calendar, by examining the crescent and seeing it visually in the sky, and it lasts either 29 or 30 days.
The first day of Ramadan begins in the UAE following the official announcement from the Crescent Scouting Committee in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia. Makkah Al-Mukarramah is considered the holiest city in the Islamic world, as it is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the site of the first revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Therefore, the Islamic world follows the announcement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enter the month of Ramadan.
The month of Ramadan begins according to the Islamic lunar calendar, which has 354 days. Thus, it advances at a rate of 11 days annually according to the Gregorian calendar.
A Muslim congratulates his brothers on this occasion, saying, “Ramadan Kareem.”
