Mensura Description
A meeting with friends, a romantic date or a Christmas dinner with the family - all these events are often associated with alcohol consumption. A glass of wine or a pint of beer many of us helps to relieve the burden of stress and emotionally tune in to pleasant communication with loved ones. But at the same time, for our health and well-being, it is important to track the amount of alcohol consumed both in the evening and in the calendar period. Mensura helps you keep track of how much alcohol you drink.
The calculation of the weekly rate of alcohol consumption in the application is based on the volume of 8 litres of pure alcohol per year. Medical sources do not have a single assessment of "safe norms" for alcohol consumption, and you will always easily find people who will insist that this norm should be equal to zero. For more details regarding “light” and “moderate” alcohol consumption levels, please refer to https://www.who.int/europe/news/item/04-01-2023-no-level-of-alcohol-consumption-is-safe-for-our-health and https://www.cdc.gov/alcohol/fact-sheets/moderate-drinking.htm.
Mensura is an alcohol tracker with intuitive and easy-to-use functionality. Directly at the party, or at any time convenient for you after, you can enter the amount of drink you have drunk, for example, 250 ml of wine, and it will be added to your drinking history for the current week. Based on the data you enter, Mensura calculates the % of your weekly consumption and allows you to keep track of your alcohol consumption. At the beginning of a new week, you will be able to reset all recorded volumes and start registering your drinks again.
In the current version of the application, accounting for the consumption of the following 6 most popular alcoholic beverages is implemented: beer, wine, sparkling wine, strong alcohol, port wine and cider. For each of them, the most popular strength level is used, on the basis of which the consumption rate is calculated. So, for example, for wine, the average strength is taken to be 13% and the weekly consumption rate will be 1183 ml or a little more than one and a half bottles of wine.
If your favourite drink is not in the list of the six listed above, then of course you can use the application - just use the drink with the closest strength level to register volumes. In the future, it is planned to implement the ability to edit the list of drinks and add drinks by the user according to their own preference.
Registration is required for the application to work.
