Foxar Description
“To visualize perfectly to understand perfectly. »
Co-built with teachers, Foxar is the educational application that supports teachers and students in primary, middle and high school. With Foxar, students understand more easily and more quickly the concepts of physics, chemistry, mathematics, life and earth sciences, astronomy, geography, ...
- More than 100 interactive models in 3D and Augmented Reality
- Complies with the school curriculum: the models are created from the official National Education curriculum.
- Teacher support and verification: Foxar can count on its community of teachers who ensure the accuracy and educational quality of the models
- Ideal for the class: use by the student individually, in groups; or by the teacher who shows the model to the whole class
- A very large part of the content is accessible free of charge, in open access. To unlock all content, a free registration is required.
- The application does not contain advertising and does not collect personal data. Statistical data is collected anonymously (number of openings of the application, models, etc.)
Our team adds models very regularly (every week)
We are constantly improving Foxar, you can write to us at equipe@foxar.fr to give us your feedback or to suggest improvements, model ideas, or any other information.
————————————————————————
*** ORIGIN ***
Foxar's goal is to allow as many students as possible to better visualize and therefore better understand the abstract points of the school curriculum, from primary school to high school.
The origin of Foxar is the desire to create a project that makes sense, useful for society.
*** CO-CONSTRUCTION ***
Foxar is entirely co-constructed with National Education, that is to say above all a large number of teachers and students, but also DANE, INSPÉ, Canopé workshops, teacher trainers...
*** PRINCIPLE ***
Foxar's idea is to create a new form of illustrations, illustrations that are more faithful to the notions they represent.
A 3D, animated and interactive model offers all students the same high level of visualization, therefore the same high level of understanding.
Pupils usually in difficulty are those who benefit the most from this type of resource, which makes it possible to simply reduce the gap within classes.
*** LIBRARY ***
Foxar is therefore a library of 3D educational models, which do not replace the course or the teacher, but only the usual illustrations.
Each model can be viewed in Augmented Reality or in classic 3D.
*** RESEARCH WORK ***
Since its beginnings in 2018, the Foxar project has been developed in partnership with public research through research experiments carried out with 3 laboratories specializing in cognitive science and learning:
— The LEAD (Laboratory for the Study of Learning and Development) in Dijon
— The LP3C (Laboratory of Psychology Cognition Behavior Communication) of Rennes
— The ADEF (Learning, Didactics, Evaluation, Training) laboratory in Aix-Marseille
The results of the experiments allow us to:
— Know the needs of teachers in terms of teaching resources.
— To verify the relevance of such a tool, to perceive the potential use cases to develop the appropriate content (in tutorials, practical work, autonomy, group work, etc.).
— To measure the added value of 3D and Augmented Reality compared to other media.
— To perfect the ergonomics, so that the tool is as intuitive as possible to use.
