Update 11.75 has arrived in RAID: Shadow Legends, and while the headline change targets the Mercurial Set and its Total Guard buff, the real long-term story may be the four new Legendary Champions joining the roster. Plarium has introduced Thralia, She Who Stands (Dwarves), Owein Winterflame (Sylvan Watchers), Thayla Hammerhorn (Skinwalkers), and Miyoko, Flower of Yakai (Shadowkin), each bringing a distinct kit that pushes different mechanics in meaningful directions.

Miyoko, Flower of Yakai – The Cooldown Assassin

Faction: Shadowkin | Affinity: Void | Role: Attack
Miyoko is the most immediately relevant of the four new Champions, because her entire kit revolves around Increase Cooldown — the one debuff that Total Guard has never been able to block.
- Her A1, Murderous Slice, attacks one enemy while ignoring 25% of the target's DEF. It also has a 50% chance to randomly increase the cooldown of one of the target's skills by 2 turns, and that effect becomes unresistable if the target already has at least one skill on cooldown. This creates a cascading lockout: once one skill is down, every subsequent A1 becomes guaranteed cooldown manipulation.
- Seductive Saboteur, her A2, hits one enemy twice while ignoring 25% DEF, Block Damage, and Stone Skin buffs. If the target dies, Miyoko randomly puts one skill from every other enemy on cooldown and gains an Extra Turn. That Extra Turn is crucial — it lets her immediately follow up with her AoE to spread cooldown pressure across the entire enemy team.
Graceful Bladework is where the kit ties together. This AoE attack places extra hits on each target proportional to how many of their skills are already on cooldown (up to 2 extra hits), and the damage increases by 5% for every remaining turn of cooldown across that enemy's skills, stacking up to 50%. If at least one extra hit lands, Miyoko places a Magma Shield on herself equal to 300% of her MAX HP for 2 turns. That Shield is substantial enough to survive a counterattack from a surviving enemy.
Passive
Her Passive, Two Steps Ahead, prevents enemies from increasing her own skill cooldowns. More importantly, enemies whose skills she has put on cooldown cannot land critical hits against her. The active portion of the Passive punishes enemy cooldown reduction: if an enemy uses a skill that reduces cooldowns, Miyoko reduces the cooldown of every ally skill except her own by 2 turns. That is a team-wide support effect tied to a purely offensive trigger.
Her Aura increases Ally SPD in Arena by 30%.
Where Miyoko fits
Arena offense is her natural home. Against teams relying on a single high-impact skill — a reviver, a control opener, a nuker — Miyoko's cooldown lockout can effectively remove that Champion from the fight. The Void affinity means she has no weak matchups against any affinity, which makes her viable in any Arena offense composition. Her Magma Shield gives her a self-protection layer that most Attack-type Champions lack, though she will still need defensive support to survive focused fire in longer fights.

Thralia, She Who Stands – Destroy MAX HP Comes of Age

Faction: Dwarves | Affinity: Magic | Role: HP
Thralia is an HP-based damage dealer built entirely around the Destroy MAX HP mechanic, a design space that RAID has touched before but never committed to this fully.
Her Passive, For Runegarden!, is the engine. Every time she attacks, she destroys 2.5% of the target's MAX HP. Every time she is attacked, she destroys 5% of the attacker's MAX HP — reduced to 2.5% against Bosses. Critically, these same triggers increase Thralia's own MAX HP, stacking up to 50%. She becomes progressively tankier as the fight continues, purely by participating in it.
She then deals 1% more damage for every 1% of the target's MAX HP that has already been destroyed. Combined with her A1's scaling — ignoring 1% of DEF per 1% of the target's destroyed MAX HP — Thralia's damage output accelerates dramatically in extended fights.
Her A1, Crystalline Fury, ignores Shield buffs and resets the cooldown of Stand With Me! on a kill. Stand With Me! attacks all enemies twice, ignoring Unkillable buffs and 15% DEF, with additional DEF ignore scaling from each target's destroyed MAX HP. A kill here resets Unflinching Bulwark's cooldown.
Unflinching Bulwark places 30% Increase C. RATE, 30% Increase C. DMG, and a Shield equal to 30% of her MAX HP on herself for 3 turns, then grants an Extra Turn. The Passive portion of this skill makes Thralia immune to Ignore DEF effects while that Shield is active. That immunity is more valuable than it might first appear — Ignore DEF is the primary tool most nukers use to punch through HP-based Champions.
Her Aura increases Ally HP in all Battles by 40%, but only for Dwarves.
Where Thralia fits
She is a late-game PvE specialist. Her kit scales with fight duration, which makes her well-suited to Clan Boss, Hydra, and extended Dungeon encounters. The Dwarf-only Aura limits her team-building flexibility, but Dwarves have solid support options. In PvP, her reliance on ramping up makes her vulnerable to fast burst compositions, though the Shield and Ignore DEF immunity on Unflinching Bulwark give her a window to survive opening exchanges.
Thayla Hammerhorn – The Complete Support Package

Faction: Skinwalkers | Affinity: Magic | Role: Support
Thayla Hammerhorn is the most straightforwardly powerful of the four new Champions, and arguably the strongest support the Skinwalkers faction has ever received.
Her A1, Skullbreak Swing, attacks one enemy with a 75% chance to place Block Buffs for 2 turns, while healing all allies by 10% of Thayla's MAX HP. A healing A1 is rare, and Block Buffs on a basic attack gives her consistent debuff pressure without sacrificing her support role.
Devastating Ram attacks all enemies twice. The first hit has a 75% chance to remove all buffs from every enemy. The second hit places 60% Decrease DEF and 30% Decrease SPD on all enemies for 2 turns. The buff strip landing before the debuffs is significant — it means enemy Immunity or Block Debuffs cannot protect against the Decrease DEF if they were stripped on the first hit.
Herald of Loriaca revives all dead allies with 50% HP and 50% Turn Meter, then places 60% Increase DEF and 30% Increase SPD on all allies for 2 turns. It also places Stun on all enemies for 1 turn, and the skill can be used even with no dead allies. This dual-purpose design makes Herald of Loriaca valuable in every fight, not just ones where revival is needed. The AoE Stun alone is worth the cooldown in many encounters.
Passive
Her Passive, For the Herd, makes enemies under any debuff placed by Thayla receive 15% more damage and deal 15% less damage. This passive activates on her Block Buffs, Decrease DEF, Decrease SPD, and Stun — all of which she applies naturally through her kit. The result is a permanent 15% damage amplification on enemies and 15% damage reduction from them, without requiring any additional setup.
Her Aura increases Ally SPD in all Battles by 20%.
Where Thayla fits
Thayla is viable across virtually every game mode. Her buff strip, AoE Decrease DEF, AoE Stun, team-wide revival, and damage amplification passive make her an excellent choice for Hydra, Doom Tower, Faction Wars, and Arena defense. The 20% Ally SPD Aura is universally useful and does not restrict team composition the way faction-locked Auras do. If you pull one new Champion from this batch, Thayla offers the broadest immediate value.
Owein Winterflame – The Magma Shield Architect

Faction: Sylvan Watchers | Affinity: Spirit | Role: Defense
Owein Winterflame is a defensive support whose kit is built around Shields, Reflect Damage, and the relatively new Magma Shield mechanic.
His A1, Latesummer's Ward, attacks all enemies twice. Each hit has a 50% chance to remove Shield and Magma Shield buffs, plus one other random buff from each enemy. This removal cannot be resisted if Owein is under a Shield or Magma Shield himself. The synergy here is intentional — Owein wants to be shielded, and when he is, his buff removal becomes reliable.
Emberwatch's Boon equalizes the HP of all allies, bringing everyone up to the highest ally's current HP, then heals based on Owein's DEF. It also places 30% Reflect Damage on all allies for 2 turns, with allies already at full HP receiving a protected version of Reflect Damage. The HP equalization is a form of pseudo-healing that cannot be blocked by Heal Reduction, and the protected Reflect Damage on full-HP allies means enemies who attack into the team face guaranteed retaliation.
Ever-Burning places 60% Increase DEF and a DEF-scaled Shield on all allies for 2 turns. Its Passive effect is where Magma Shield generation comes in: whenever a Shield on an ally expires or is removed, Owein places a Magma Shield on that ally for 1 turn, scaling from his DEF. This creates a Shield chain — every Shield that breaks becomes a Magma Shield, which is both a damage absorption layer and a damage-reflecting tool.
His Passive, Winter's Flame, reduces incoming damage by 25%, increasing to 50% while Owein is under a Shield or Magma Shield. The reduced damage is reflected back to enemies. Additionally, whenever Owein or an ally kills an enemy through Reflect Damage, passive Reflect Damage, or a Magma Shield, that Champion gains Unkillable for 1 turn. This turns successful defensive play into an offensive opportunity.
Where Owein fits
Owein is a defensive cornerstone for Sylvan Watchers teams and Shield-centric compositions. His damage reduction scales dramatically when he is shielded, and his ability to convert Shield expiration into Magma Shield generation gives his team a second layer of protection that most opponents will not expect. His Magma Shield synergy makes him a natural partner for other Shield-generating Champions.
How These Champions Interact With Each Other

There is a notable pattern across this batch. Thralia's A1 ignores Shields. Owein's A1 strips Shields. Miyoko's A2 ignores Block Damage and Stone Skin. Meanwhile, Owein and Miyoko both generate their own Magma Shields. Update 11.75 is simultaneously pushing Shield stacking and Shield piercing.
For team building, Thayla is the most plug-and-play. Her Skinwalkers faction tag and universal SPD Aura let her slot into almost any composition. Miyoko pairs well with other cooldown manipulation Champions, and her Magma Shield self-protection means she does not require a dedicated defensive support. Thralia needs a team built around surviving long enough for her Destroy MAX HP scaling to kick in, which means pairing her with Thayla or Owein makes sense. Owein works best in teams that already generate Shields, making him an excellent partner for Champions like Thayla whose kits naturally include Shield effects.
How to Prioritize
Thayla Hammerhorn is the safest investment of the four. Her kit is complete at base level, her Aura is universal, and she performs well in every game mode. Miyoko is the highest-ceiling Champion for Arena players specifically, because her cooldown lockout can dismantle teams that rely on a single key skill. Thralia is a specialist's Champion — excellent in extended PvE encounters but requiring more team support. Owein is the most niche but also the most mechanically interesting, and he may become more valuable as Shield-centric strategies continue to develop.
Final Thoughts
Update 11.75's four new Legendaries are not filler. Each one occupies a distinct design space, and two of them — Miyoko and Owein — push mechanics that had been underdeveloped. Thayla is the immediate power pick, Miyoko is the meta answer, Thralia is the scaling threat, and Owein is the defensive puzzle piece. Together, they represent one of the more thoughtfully constructed Champion batches RAID has released this year.
