2021-06-02

League Of Legends Wild Rift recently got some big changes in regards to runes, champions, etc. Below you will find the complete patch notes of LOL Wild Rift to go through each change. These changes can really impact your gameplay and game style. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

NEW CHAMPIONS

RIVEN, THE EXILE

LOL: Wild Rift Patch Notes 2.3 – New Champions And Changes

Once a swordmaster in the war hosts of Noxus, Riven rose through the ranks on the strength of her conviction and brutal efficiency and was rewarded with a legendary runic blade and a Warband of her own. However, on the Ionian front, Riven’s faith in her nation was tested and ultimately broken. She severed all ties to the empire, seeking to find her place in a shattered world, even as rumors abounded that Noxus had been reforged. Now forced to return in chains, she faces the judgment of her former homeland...

Riven will be released on June 3 at 0:01 UTC.

IRELIA, THE BLADE DANCER

LOL: Wild Rift Patch Notes 2.3 – New Champions And Changes

The Noxian occupation of Ionia produced many heroes, none more unlikely than the young Irelia of Navori. Trained in the ancient dances of her province, she adapted her art for war, using the graceful and carefully practiced movements to levitate a host of deadly blades. After proving herself as a fighter, she was thrust into the role of resistance leader and figurehead, and to this day remains dedicated to the preservation of her homeland.

Irelia will be released on June 3 at 0:01 UTC.

CHAMPION CHANGES

AKALI

Akali is frustratingly strong in the early game, but also a bit difficult to play. We’re giving a nod to our friends at PC who recently addressed this by re-balancing her base stats and simplifying her energy regeneration mechanics. By reducing her early game tankiness, her laning success isn’t guaranteed, but on the shuriken flip side, her overall net buff with later dueling payoff will be deadly when she strikes. With her new Maximum Energy mechanic, Akali will no longer be punished for activating Twilight Shroud (2) at the wrong energy levels.

Base Stats

  • Base HP: 650 → 570
  • HP per Level: 115 → 125
  • Total HP at level 15: 2260 → 2320
  • Armor: 35 → 30

(1) Five-Point Strike

  • Energy: 95 / 90 / 85 / 80 → 130 / 110 / 90 / 70

(2) Twilight Shroud

  • Restores 80 Energy
  • Increases Total Energy by 80 when shroud is active

(3) Shuriken Flip

  • Shuriken base damage: 40/80/120/160 → 30/60/90/120
  • Shuriken AD ratio: 0.35 → 0.25
  • Shuriken AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.3
  • Dash base damage: 40/80/120/160 → 70/120/170/220
  • Dash AD ratio: 0.35 → 0.5
  • Dash AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.8

(Ult) Perfect Execution

  • First Cast: Physical damage → Magic damage
  • [NEW] First Cast AP ratio: 0.3
  • Second Cast AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.4
  • Max AP ratio: 1.5 → 1.2

BLITZCRANK

Blitzcrank’s been running a bit sluggish, so this change will help him run smoother without overclocking him.

(P) Mana Barrier

  • Cooldown: 80s → 50s

(2) Overdrive

  • Cooldown: 15s → 12s

CAMILLE

We are making Camille a bit easier to play by causing her tapcasted Hookshot (3) to auto-target walls. This way, the Steel Shadow can spend her efforts fully focused on engaging foes rather than hunting for suitable terrain.

(3) Hookshot

  • Tap cast now detects terrain in front of Camille and fires towards it
  • Tap cast will not cast if there is no terrain in front of Camille

DARIUS

Darius has been cutting his way through enemies too easily in the early game. We are axing the Attack Damage he gains when reaching full stacks of his Noxian Might (passive) during his first few levels to ensure he doesn’t get carried away too fast.

(P) Noxian Might

  • Attack Damage gained at Full Stacks: 29 / 43 / 57 / 71 / 85 / 99 / 113 / 127 / 141 / 155 / 169 / 183 / 197 / 211 / 225 → 22 / 30 / 38 / 46 / 58 / 70 / 82 / 94 / 112 / 130 / 148 / 166 / 186 / 206 / 226

DIANA

With her recent buffs, Diana has been enjoying her time in the moonlight a little too much. We are reeling her in so she has to work a bit harder if she wants to snowball through her opponents.

Base Stats

  • Health: 610 → 570

(P) Moonsilver Blade

  • AP ratio: 0.6 → 0.5

(Ult) Moonfall

  • Minimum Base Damage: 175 / 225 / 275 → 150 / 200 / 250
  • Maximum Base Damage: 350 / 450 / 550 → 300 / 400 / 500

FIZZ

The Tidal Trickster doesn’t want to be anchored to just one swim lane, so we’re giving him a small buff to make him better suited for the jungle to increase his role flexibility. In addition, Fizz’s Playful/Trickster (3) is now more rewarding when used right and less punishing when misplayed.

(P) Seastone Trident

  • Passive Damage Over Time now deals 200% damage to neutral monsters

(3) Playful / Trickster

  • Mana: 95 / 100 / 105 / 110 → 85 / 90 / 95 / 100
  • Cooldown: 16 / 14 / 12 / 10s → 15.5 / 13.5 / 11.5 / 9.5s
  • Base Damage: 70 / 140 / 210 / 280 → 85 / 150 / 215 / 280

GAREN

Garen is too good at attritioning out his opponents with his tankiness and low ultimate cooldown. We are toning this down so he doesn’t become the absolute king of Baron lane.

Base Stats

  • Health Growth: 135 → 125
  • Armor Growth: 6.4 → 5.8

(Ult) Demacian Justice

  • Cooldown: 65 / 60 / 55s → 80 / 70 / 60s

GRAGAS

Gragas’ drinking is becoming a problem. He is shrugging off too much damage while dishing out too much himself. These changes should help the Rabble Rouser sober up into a more reasonable state.

(2) Drunken Rage

  • Base Damage Reduction: 10 / 13 / 16 / 19% → 8 / 11 / 14 / 17%
  • Target’s Maximum HP Damage: 8% → 7%

KENNEN

After his electrifying debut, Kennen is now struggling to keep his spark alive. We are giving him a small voltage boost so he can maintain his shock value a bit longer.

(1) Thundering Shuriken

  • Base Damage: 65 / 120 / 175 / 230 → 75 / 130 / 185 / 240

(2) Electrical Surge

  • Cooldown: 15 / 12 / 9 / 6s → 12 / 10 / 8 / 6s

KHA’ZIX

The Void Reaver has a unique mechanic we believe needs a bit more massaging to match Wild Rift’s faster pace and smaller map. We are making it easier for targets to become isolated so Kha’Zix can live out his predatory dreams more frequently.

(P) Unseen Threat

  • Isolation Radius: 400 → 300

PANTHEON

We are bringing Pantheon’s Grand Starfall (Ult) to be more similar to League PC as a way to help him out and give the Unbreakable Spear more options to itemize pure AD without investing in AD penetration.

(Ult) Grand Starfall

  • [NEW] Armor Penetration: 10 / 15 / 20%

RAKAN

Rakan is struggling to perform compared to his counterparts, so we are buffing his base stats and lowering his shield cooldown. This should allow Charmer to dance his way into battle later in the game more often.

Base Stats

  • Base Magic Resistance: 30 → 34
  • Magic Resistance per Level: 0.8 → 1.2
  • Total MR at Level 15 : 41.2 → 50.8

(P) Fey Feathers

  • Shield Cooldown Reduced at Level 15: 17.6 → 14.8s
  • 40 / 38.4 / 36.8 / 35.2 / 33.6 / 32 / 30.4 / 28.8 / 27.2 / 25.6 / 24 / 22.4 / 20.8 / 19.2 / 17.6s → 40 / 38.2 / 36.4 / 34.6 / 32.8 / 31 / 29.4 / 27.4 / 25.6 / 23.8 / 22 / 20.2 / 18.4 / 16.6 / 14.8s

RAMMUS

Rammus’ early jungle clear was too slow for comfort while his damage scaling was too high. We’re adjusting his base stats to help him gain momentum faster early on while dulling his spikes a bit to make him less tanky in the late game. This way, we hope players don’t start hatin’ when they see him rollin’.

Base Stats

  • Base Armor per Level: 5.1 → 4.7
  • Armor at Level 15: 117 → 111

(2) Defensive Ball Curl

  • Spiked Shell base damage: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 → 8 / 10 / 12 / 14

RENEKTON

This toothy, psychotic crocodile did not have a full meal before escaping his entombment, so we’re giving Renekton some juicy damage and healing buffs. Who knew that being trapped underground for thousands of years would hinder one from reaching their full potential?

Base Stats

  • Base AD: 64 → 70

(1) Cull the Meek

  • On-Hit Heal: 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 → 6 / 9 / 12 / 15
  • Base Damage: 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 → 70 / 120 / 170 / 220
  • Bonus AD ratio: 80% → 90%
  • Enhanced Base Damage: 90 / 165 / 240 / 315 → 105 / 180 / 255 / 330
  • Enhanced Bonus AD ratio: 120% → 135%

TWISTED FATE

Another buff is in the cards for Twisted Fate as he continues to feel inconsistent in the late game. We are returning a portion of his Attack Speed from Stacked Deck (3) back to a passive always-on version.

(3) Stacked Deck

  • [NEW] Passive Attack Speed: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30%
  • Active Bonus Attack Speed: 55 / 70 / 85 / 100% → 40 / 50 / 60 / 70%

WUKONG

Wukong was monkeying around too much and underperforming in lane. We are giving him some more laning power to encourage him to play outside the comfort of his jungle. Also, we are adding a refund mechanic to his Golden Staff (1) so the Monkey King needs to stick on targets longer instead of aim to blow them up instantly.

(1) Golden Staff

  • Cooldown: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5s → 8 / 7.5 / 7 / 6.5s
  • [NEW] Now heals for 10% Bonus HP
  • Attacks from Wukong and his clone now reduce Golden Staff's cooldown by 0.5 seconds

(2) Warrior Trickster

  • Cooldown: 16 / 14 / 12 / 10s → 18 / 17 / 16 / 15s

XIN ZHAO

Xin Zhao’s kit is a bit outdated; however, our friends in League PC had a successful mini-rework for him.. We are bringing some of those changes over to help match the Seneschal of Demacia to a more modern champion design.

Base Stats

  • Base AD: 64 → 58

(P) Determination

  • Base Heal Amount: 9.6 to 60 → 6.8 to 60o

(1) Three Talon Strike

  • Base Damage: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 → 20 / 25 / 30 / 35

(2) Wind Becomes Lightning

  • Sweep and Strike now hit slightly behind Xin Zhao
  • Strike Range: 6 → 8
  • Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9s → 12 / 10.5 / 9 / 7.5s
  • Second hit AD ratio: 0.8 → 0.7
  • Strike now Challenges Champions/Monsters and provides vision of the target for 3s
  • If multiple targets are hit, the furthest from Xin Zhao is the one that is challenged
  • Minion damage reduced by 50%

(3) Audacious Charge

  • Cast Range on Challenged Targets: 5.5 → 8.5
  • AP ratio: 60% → 80%

(Ult) Crescent Guard

  • Damage: 75 / 175 / 275 → 75 / 150 / 225
  • [NEW] AP ratio: 80% AP
  • Duration: 3s → 5s
  • [REMOVED] Basic attacks and spells extend Crescent Guard's duration

ZIGGS

The Hexplosives Expert is getting too carried away with damaging structures, so we are turning down his explosive impact just a bit.

Base Stats

  • Passive Damage to Structures: 200% → 150%

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

The following are gameplay changes you need to know about:

ITEMS

First of all, is Items, RIOT has made some massive changes in items and you need to be careful about picking items:

BLACK CLEAVER

Black Cleaver is being overshadowed by Trinity Force too often. We are giving it a bump to help it keep up with the faster pace of the game and to diversify item build paths.

  • Attack Damage: 30 → 35
  • Armor Reduction per stack: 4% → 5%
  • Max stacks: 6 → 5
  • Total armor reduction: 24% → 25%

DEAD MAN’S PLATE

Dead Man’s Plate is too strong overall given its high utility, so we are tuning down some of its generic tank power to lighten its impact.

  • Health: 300 → 225

DUSKBLADE OF DRAKTHARR

AD Assassin play styles are missing their marks, so we are giving a small nudge to their primary damage item to balance to increase their viability.

  • Attack Damage: 50 → 55

MAW OF MALMORTIUS

The Maw feels underwhelming as a hybrid defense and offense tool, so we are bumping it up to make it worth the purchase.

  • Price: 3200G → 3000G
  • Magic Resist: 35 → 45

TRINITY FORCE

Trinity Force has been doing its job too well, particularly for champions who rely on Attack Speed. To slow their roll a bit, we are tuning it down.

  • Attack speed: 40% → 30%

NEW RUNES

We’re implementing a number of changes and upgrades to the current rune offering to help increase the variety of pre-game setups.

[NEW] KEYSTONE: PHASE RUSH
