Genshin Impact: Guide to pick Characters

2020-10-01

The Genshin Impact has clearly made a blast in the gacha and role-playing games community. It hasn't been a week yet, and the game has a 4.6 out of 5 ratings with over 1 million downloads on Google Play Store.

Genshin Impact: Guide to pick Characters

The characters are amazing; the storyline is well written and interesting. It doesn't end here; the developer miHoYo Limited included a pleasing soundtrack and amazing graphics. The game gives you a few characters as you progress in the game; you can win the rest through the gacha system.

Players can build their dream team with the character they like. A combination of specific characters can also increase your chances of winning against enemies. Players can choose four characters for a fight from DPS, Support, and Healer. In this article, I will give you a brief overview of each character in the Genshin Impact.

Characters based on Performance in different modes:

For the most part, the Genshin Impact is a single-player experience. So, from this guide, you will be able to figure out the best characters you want in the game.

Amber:

Amber is the first member to join you in your journey in Genshin Impact. Amber is an archer character; however, she is not that strong unless you are interested in playing with her. Her elemental skill deploys a dummy that pulls aggro from the enemies, and it explodes after a specific time.

However, the dummy’s damage is limited to a small area, which makes it weak support. The support is supposed to be Amber's secret source of power, but with the low damage that amber has and the small explosion of the dummy makes her a somewhat mediocre character.

Barbara:

Barbara is one of the dedicated healers in the Genshin Impact. Her healing goes directly with her hp, and she is the tankiest character in the team. Her elemental skill creates a field around her that heals the current character you are playing with a total of three times.

You can also heal your team by dealing damage while under Barbara's elemental skill effect. Her elemental burst is pretty good, but the cooldown on it is pretty high. So, use it when it's crucial. Barbara's elemental burst restores a high amount of health throughout the party.

Beidou:

Beidou is one of my favorite characters in the game, and so far, she is the only character in the game who can counter enemy attacks. Her elemental skill, "Tight Collar," allows her to enter a stance that absorbs enemy attacks and deals massive damage to the enemy when it releases.

She is one of the few characters which will help you in your early and late game. Her elemental burst generates an electric field around her that applies electric discharge to her attacks. Pair Beidou with serious damage and attack speed character to see her elemental burst's greatness. However, the only down point to Beidou is the cooldown on her elemental burst, which can cause problems in long fights.

Diluc:

Diluc is one of your top characters in the Genshin Impact. His high burst damage is no match to any character in the game for now. You can use his elemental skills to perform three flaming slashes, which you can mix with your regular basic attacks.

The procedure to do this is to use your three basic attacks, then one flaming slash, and repeat these two more times. You can do this up to three times. His elemental skill makes him a consistent damage dealer in the game.

Diluc's elemental burst releases a wave of energy that deals with massive Pyro damage by summoning a phoenix. The phoenix explodes after reaching its destination, causing massive damage. Diluc is one of the best choices when it comes to massive damage dealers in a team.

Chongyun:

As of now, Chongyun is the only character in Genshin Impact that can provide consistent cryo buff for the team. His elemental skills deal damage to surrounding enemies and leave a feel that converts attacks into cryo damage. His elemental Burst has a low cooldown and low energy cost, making him a high damage dealer, but his cryo buff only works for sword users. However, Chongyun is a great character to have in your team.

Fischl:

The fun didn't end with Diluc; Fischl is an archer character who can deal with serious damage. She might seem like a supporting character, but she is more than that while in a team with Diluc.

Her elemental skills, "Nightrider" leaves her oz on the battlefield, which deals damage every second and put electro status on enemies. Fischl's elemental burst transforms her into oz himself. Fischl will be able to travel in oz form dealing electro damage to enemies. Transforming also increases the movement speed of Fischl. The oz remains on the battlefield to support Fischl after the transformation effect end.

Jean:

A list of top characters is not completed without including the Knights' acting grandmaster in the Genshin Impact, and that's Jean for you. She is a strong character to have in your team. Her charged basic attack can launch enemies into the air with a delayed fall, making it a lot easier for Jean to control small groups of enemies.

Her elemental skill allows her to let out a short blast that scales very well with her attack, or she can hold the skill down and suck the enemies into the air and blast them away in a direction. The skill is most suitable when fighting on higher ground. Use the skill to suck enemies and throw them off the cliff for an instant kill.

Her elemental burst is on another level; she heals the team and launches enemies into the air leaving a restorative field that provides continuous health regeneration. Jean is more like a utility character that provides great burst damage and heals the team during the process.

Conclusion:

Genshin Impact character guide can help you figure out what character to aim for but keep in mind some of the characters are too hard for free to play players, and that's because maxing out a five-star character is no joke in the game. So, it is better to aim for four-star characters in the Genshin Impact.

However, in the characters mentioned above, you can use Diluc as a high damage dealer, Fischl as a support and damage dealer, Barbara as a healer or use Chongyun for cryo buff, and Jean a damage dealer, healer, and support in your team.
