Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG - Best Action Cards

As mentioned during the Genius Involkation TCG guide, Action Cards serve as quick actions that players can choose to use while they are in their turn in order to gain advantages or to buff their character cards in order to further their advance in the game ever closer to their goal of winning. Each action card has different costs that require players to spend their elemental dice to activate, making using action cards one of the primary resource management things that players need to pay attention to. In the game mode, there are certain action cards and action card combos that are extremely powerful that players should play in all of their decks. The following are the best action cards in terms of utility and power that players should play when building their decks.

Switch Characters Combo

By utilizing a combo of 3 different cards, players can easily switch between their active character cards, making it extremely good for tanking damage and initiating elemental reactions within the same turns, helping to deal massive damage while ensuring that the enemy can’t take out your cards all at once. The 3 cards are:

- Changing Shifts: Reduces the cost of switching between allies by 1, making the cost 0. (0 Cost)

- Leave it to me!: Make a switching action become a fast action, meaning it doesn’t cost you a turn to switch between your active character cards. (0 Cost)

- When the Crane Returned: After a skill or an attack from the active character card, automatically switches to the next character card without any costs. (1 Cost)

When utilizing this combo, players will be able to instantly switch between character cards with minimal costs (only up to 1 dice cost) making it a very versatile and useful combo to help with dealing elemental damage and tanking damage from the enemies.

Best Utility Action Cards

Utility Action cards mainly concern cards that can grant players a specific ability or advantages against the enemy, helping to further the game state and help players advance further in order to help them achieve victory faster. The best cards of this type are:

- Starsigns: Immediately grants 1 energy to the active character card (2 costs). This allows the active character card to gain energy without having to use up an attack or skill.

- Paimon: Grants 2 omni-elemental dice at the start of the next 2 turns (3 costs). This card allows the player to gain extra elemental dice to use for play during the next 2 turns.

- Strategize: Immediately draw 2 new action cards (1 cost). This card acts as essentially a pot of greed and allows players to draw 2 new action cards (like a certain pot card).

- The Bestest Travel Companion!: Transform 2 elemental dice into 2 omni-elemental dice (2 costs). This essentially helps players exchange 2 dice of the elements they don’t like into 2 elemental dice that they can use right away for skills or attacks.

- Guardian’s Oath: Destroys all summons on the field (4 cost). While this card is a niche card with limited usage and high cost, against summons decks, this card is the best counter, so having 1 of the cards in the deck at least helps with fighting against the enemy’s strategy.

Equipment and Artifacts Action Cards

For Equipment and Artifacts type Action Cards, they will need to be changed depending on the weapon types and element types of the character cards in the deck.

It is highly recommended that players run at least 1 weapon card and 1 artifact card corresponding to each of the character cards weapon types and elements in order to buff their performance if players were to draw them. For weapons, the tier 2 weapons of each type are recommended over the tier 3 ones due to better effects at the same cost, while artifacts prefer the tier 3 ones for the corresponding elements for better effect overall.

Top Character Cards Combos

For each deck, players will need to use at least 3 character cards and have the ability to switch between the character cards as the game goes on. Certain character card combos can have different playstyle and help to initiate certain special elemental reactions that will help players deal good damage. Some of the most powerful character card combos includes:

Freeze Combo:

The Freeze Combo includes the 3 character cards of Ayaka, Chongyun and Xingqiu. The main power point of this deck lies in Chongyun and Ayaka’s abilities to infuse their normal attacks with the Cryo element, which when coupled with Xingqiu’s ultimate skill, will completely freeze the enemy’s active character card, rendering them unable to do any actions aside from switching, costing them valuable elemental dice.

Summons Combo:

The Summons Combo includes 3 character cards of Collei, Mona and Fischl. The primary function of this deck is to summon up to 3 summons on the field, each dealing elemental damage at the end of the turn in addition to inflicting elemental reaction damage to the enemies’ active character card. This deck is highly reliant on reactions such as Quicken, Electro-charged and Bloom, helping to deal extra damage thanks to the summons on the field. However, this combo is easily countered by action cards that destroy summons, so be careful.

Melt/ Vaporize Combos:

The Melt or Vaporize combo includes character cards such as Ayaka or Mona coupled with Yoimiya and Bennett. With this combo, players will rely heavily on inflicting the enemies with the Cryo or Hydro elemental marks from Ayaka or Mona normal attacks, then deal massive amount of Vaporize or Melt damage from the combination of Bennett’s burst skill and Yoimiya’s enhanced normal attack, dealing massive amount of single target damage to enemies that relies on 1 character card as their ace.

Keqing Main Combo:

Unlike in the normal game, Keqing is one of the most powerful character cards in the TCG mode due to her ultimate skill’s ability to deal massive amounts of damage to all character cards of the enemy. This makes it so that decks that revolve around her dealing damage are extremely easy to use and are extremely powerful. The best companions to go with Keqing as the main damage dealer includes Fischl, Bennett, Sucrose, Collie and others that can help initiate elemental reaction to boost her damage output against enemies.
