Fate/Grand Order Christmas 2022 Lotto Event Guide

With the holiday season fast approaching and everyone of the Fate/Grand Order community is being tormented by all of the Padorus in the world, it is time for the annual Christmas Lotto Event for the NA server. This year, the annual Christmas Lotto features the first male Santa servant - Karna (Saber) (Santa) and features a brand new lotto mechanic that rewards players with saint quarts fragments, summoning tickets and more. In addition, a brand new 5* servant have been introduced - the 5* Lancer Vritra.

 

In this guide, we will go over the details of the Fate/Grand Order Christmas Lotto Event and advises players on how they can best farm the event and obtain the most amount of rewards from the event, how the players can obtain the free 4* Saber Karna (Santa) and debate whether or not players should roll for the brand new 5* Lancer Vritra.

Fate/Grand Order 2022 Christmas Lotto Event 

Held for a total of 2 weeks, The Fate/Grand Order 2022 Christmas Lotto event consists of several different mechanics and a brand new type of Lotto that allows players to gain amazing rewards such as summoning tickets, saint quarts fragments and more.

Story Nodes

Throughout the event, certain story nodes will be unlocked gradually and players will need to clear these story nodes first to unlock brand new farming nodes for the lotto event.

These nodes will cost up to 5 AP each and require a certain amount of Black Present Boxes collected to unlock new story nodes gradually.

Farming Nodes

Farming nodes will be available throughout the event with difficulty level increasing with each farming node unlocked after finishing the corresponding story node, from lv 40 nodes up to lv90+ nodes.

Each farming node gives different amounts of event currencies and the harder the node level, the more currencies that node drops. There’s a total of 4 different event currencies players will need to obtain from the farming nodes, which includes the bronze shop currency Cool Gum, the silver currency Saint Bar, the gold currency Holy Banana and the Lotto Currency Solar Hand Wrap.

 

The players should absolutely prioritize farming for the 3 shop currencies in order to obtain the event CE in the shop then switch to farming more difficult nodes that drop more of the lotto currencies as the main focus of the event is to farm as much lotto currencies as possible during the event duration.

Event Shop

Event Currencies obtained from the Farming Nodes can be exchanged for various rewards in the Event Shop available for a limited time during the event. These rewards range from event exclusive items like CE that greatly boost the drop rate of the Lotto Currency to character upgrading materials and upgrade statues.

Players should prioritize getting the 4 Event Exclusive CE before exchanging for other items as the CE will help the players greatly with obtaining lotto currencies to exchange for lotto boxes.

Lotto Boxes

The namesake of these types of events, the lotto boxes are boxes with 300 slots filled with amazing rewards for players to spend lotto currencies on to clear and obtain rewards from the lotto boxes.

 

The first 20 boxes include event specific items and character upgrading materials and must be cleared in order to fully complete the event. The rewards from these first 20 boxes are of utmost importance and give players big values when obtaining all 20 boxes.

From the 21st box onwards, the rewards will no longer be event specific and will contain mostly character upgrading materials and Qps. From the 21st box onwards, players can farm and clear boxes unlimitedly, meaning they can farm as much character upgrading materials from these boxes as much as they would like as long as they have the event lotto currency to clear the boxes. Some strong players have historically cleared up to 1000 of these boxes to store resources for the whole year of gameplay thanks to this system, therefore, players should focus on farming clear as many boxes as possible in this event.

Black Present Lotto

Exclusive to this event is the Black Box lotto which is unlocked once players have cleared the last story node in the event and includes a lot of amazing rewards such as saint quarts fragments, summoning tickets, 5* EXPs and Gold Upgrading Materials.

 

Unlike normal lotto boxes, this lotto cost black present that players can obtain with a limited quantity by clearing the first 20 lotto boxes and challenge matches.

Karna (Saber) (Santa)

The welfare of the event is that of the only male santa servant in the game so far - Karna (Saber) (Santa).

Karna (Santa) is a 4* Quick Single Target Saber class servant that specializes in dealing massive damage to enemies with his hard hitting Noble Phantasm and critical hits with his Quick cards. His kit revolves around buffing himself with beneficial buffs to enhance his single target damage from his Noble Phantasm and Quick cards.

 

Karna (Santa)’s Noble Phantasm deals massive damage to 1 enemy, dealing up to 7 quick hits and reducing their damage resistance to quick attacks, further enhancing Quicks servants’ damage output to the same enemy. 

Players can obtain Karna (Santa) for free by clearing the event story and exchange for his permanent copy in the shop with the ticket from the 5th lotto box.

Special Christmas 2022 Rate Up Banner - Should You Roll

Together with the Christmas 2022 Lotto Event comes the Rate up Banner featuring a brand new 5* Lancer servant - Vritra.

Vritra

Vritra is a 5* Arts AOE Lancer class servant that specializes in helping players with farming waves of enemies with her Noble Phantasm, regaining her NP gauge and spam her Noble Phantasm to kill waves of enemies.

Vritra kit focuses on buffing her Arts performance and her farming potential as her skills enhance her Noble Phantasm damage, increasing her NP gain from attacks and improving her survivability with a 1 turn invincibility.

 

Vritra's main use is as a Lancer farmer of the arts card type that pairs fairly well with Caster Artoria, allowing players to farm waves of enemies and become a reliable farmer in the long term for events that require long hours of farming such as the current Lotto Event.

Should You Roll

No, you should not. Vritra is not of priority and is extremely mediocre in terms of both usage and power in the long term even if her kit is suitable for a farmer. In addition, Vritra is a non-limited 5* servant, meaning she would be able to spook players when they attempt to roll for other event rate up servants in the future and might become available in future 5* pick tickets, therefore, having her is not of priority even if the player is in need of a good farmer.
