2020 update: DON'T USE IT ! It claims backup all emails safely. But it crashed often, & lost/deleted all emails, 3 times in a few months ! After report, QNAP would log into your NAS to check your data and settings. Privacy issue ! 2019 comment: Not bad. The idea is great. Implementation is bad. eg, too many errors, fail to login, settings disappear, sometimes work, sometimes not, & many many other issues. It would definitely get 5 stars if there is no problem, or at least not that many problems.
I wanted to use QmailClient as my main email platform, specially because I can store emails on my QNAP NAS and have access to them on my mobile (for emails no longer stored on the mail server). However: 1. Sometimes QmailClient will stop receiving emails for no reason; 2. Emails backed-up on NAS, have no contents, shows error; 3. Technical support will just drive you in circles without any solutions. This app is not ready to be launched. QNAP should not use customers as debugging testers.
Good start to a great email client. Just installed it and i can see it being my goto email client. First observation is that it's not very easy to delete emails, it'd be nice if we could do it while we have the email open.
